"Over the past two years i've been both a student and flight instructor at Epic Flight Academy, and can say nothing but great things about this establishment. In my opinion, they provide the best instruction that you'll find anywhere as far as flight schools go. The aircraft (Cessna 172 Skyhawks, and Piper Seminole Twins) are all practically brand new, with state of the art avionics. The maintenance crew is top notch, and take the best care of the airplanes. And the instructors and dispatch crew keep safety and customer service as an absolute top priority, and it really shows. Epic really sets the standard of quality flight instruction at an extremely high level that you won't find elsewhere. I recently took one of my students on a cross country training flight to Ocala, to do some instruction as well as check out Epic's new Ocala facility. I was very impressed by the location itself and everything that the Ocala airport and its surrounding area had to offer. First off, It's a super nice controlled airport with an excellent runway and very friendly air traffic controllers. Another thing that was an awesome bonus to the area was the surrounding region (mostly flat farmland) which creates a very safe flight training environment with plenty of fields to make emergency landings. This is great for teaching new private students and provides great peace of mind when doing training flights. There are also quite a few uncontrolled airports just a stones throw away from the Ocala airport, which are great for teaching uncontrolled operations and taking students for solos. Lastly, the airport has just about every different type of instrument approach available to use for practice approaches, which is a huge benefit to new instrument students who need to learn how to shoot an ILS approach or VOR approach. Overall, this location has so much to offer to flight students and instructors alike, and I think it's gonna be an awesome addition to the epic family!
