"An update to my previous 5 star review (right after the visit). The medical care was excellent and I would still give 5 stars on that front, but billing is a nightmare. Expect to pay an obscene amount just for walking in the door. We had about the simplest procedure possible (the doctor resetting a dislocated elbow which required no equipment or medication), the whole thing took about 5 minutes (not counting waiting room time) and the bill was around 1k for the doctor and another 6k for the hospital. They double billed the procedure and called a dozen times and wrote two letters to dispute the overbilling, but they never bothered to respond and then sent the balance which I was disputing to a collections agency. I would only recommend going to HCA Englewood if you would die before making it elsewhere."

"I’ll start by saying the receptionist was very nice but that was it. The place was dirty, the staff was rude, nobody listened to you. Instead they test you for things you’ve already had or refused (they do it anyway just to collect money). And if you have allergies to anything I would highly recommend not coming here as they don’t even ask for your full allergies or list them and then give them to you. I have never had such a horrible experience. They never asked my past medical issues/surgeries, my complete allergy list etc. When I got into the room there was trash throughout the hospital on the floors (I understand why as everything my nurse dropped she left on the floor). They gave me an i.v and used tape on me which I am allergic to so my skin started to blister because the check in nurse said she didn’t need that, my stitches or my latex allergy!!! Like what?! Not to mention the hour they left me hooked up to an empty i.v bag all because no one hardly came to check in on me in the 4 hours I was there. Then to top it off I was “diagnosed” with a guess. They sent me on my way with an antibiotic I am highly allergic to and had a bad reaction and had to stop after one. He was supposed to prescribe me a medicine I had through my i.v but instead prescribed something different which I refused to take due to my high risk of allergies. When I went to pick up the right prescription the next day I spoke with the pharmacist about the antibiotic and he saw the reaction I was having and told me to stop taking the antibiotic. Im also glad I didn’t take the other med the Dr. prescribed me because that also had one of the same ingredients as the antibiotic I took that I am allergic to. So between that and the antibiotic I would have had double the dose of meds I am allergic to and would have been back in the ER for anaphylaxis on top of the issue they were supposed to be treating."

"Went to the emergency room with severe neck and back pain. And was told to stay put in the ER waiting room in a wheelchair for 5.5 hours before I was seen. And on top of it I was told I needed a specialist and they is nothing the hospital can do and then they pricked my arm with some meds and sent me on my way I called to get a follow up since none helped me and they set up a follow up almost 2 weeks after I'm still in severe neck and back pain and still have yet to be seen. The nurses were amazing and did a great job. But to have the issues I have and not be seen for over 5 hours and then told nothing can be done really isn't what you want to hear. I am still at a loss in extreme pain and agony everyday until I get into the doctors this weeks. If you have severe neck pain I would not recommend going here."

"I was skeptical before about being admitted as this is a small hospital that services a small community but I will say I was so wrong in my assumptions. Within a few hours I had been seen diagnosed and taken to a private room with surgery scheduled for the next day. The ER Doctor and the Surgeon were phenomenal in carrying out their responsibilities and taking care of me. The unsung heroes of all of this is the nursing staff. Sherri was an angel as well as the night nurse and CNA’s that were there to take care of me. All of the staff here were wonderful and I will not hesitate to be seen here ever again."
