"My first experience with Thai Bistro was trying to order online but the site kept telling me something was wrong. No worries, I called in my order for pickup as I literally live within a 5 minute drive. My order was read back to me on the phone and all was good. I arrived a few minutes before the food was ready which was perfect because that meant everything will be hot when I got home. I ordered for 4. Two curry dishes, two drunk noodle dishes, and three apps. One of the curry dishes was ordered with a hot spice level. The other three were medium spice. None of the three medium had any discernible level of spice added other than I could see a few black specks I took to possibly be a black pepper. The hot spice curry dish had a low level of spice added. In addition to the disappointing spice level, it was noted that the two drunk noodle dishes lacked a sufficient amount of vegetables. And while the dishes were hot enough, hotter than warm but not by much, one drunk noodle dish was supposed to include chicken with an additional pork added. It only included pork. One of the apps was Steamed dumplings and looked unusual and tasty. I have never seen dumplings like these. Served with a plumb sauce, I looked forward to trying one. It was barely above room temperature. We could have heated them in our microwave so not a big deal but still disappointing. We did not finish them. Another app was deep fried wontons. Again, not hot. Just warm. They lacked flavor beyond the fried portion and some were left uneaten as well. It was as if the apps were prepared first and left waiting for the entrees to be made. Other than the spice level of the curry dishes, the only other disappointment was that the sauce was too watery and not thick enough compared to other favored restaurants. I was looking forward to having a great Thai meal so close to home. Having read the reviews I was certain this would be the spot. I hope this was a one off bad experience and not normal."

From the moment we entered the restaurant, the staff greeted us with warm smiles, setting a positive tone for the rest of the evening. The service was friendly, efficient, and prompt, showing a keen commitment to customer satisfaction. Our orders were taken quickly, and the food arrived within a reasonable timeframe, allowing us to savor our meal without unnecessary delays. The food itself was flavorful, a showcase of Thai culinary artistry. However, there was one significant concern - the spice level. I had ordered my dish "Thai hot", anticipating the bold, fiery flavors synonymous with Thai cuisine. Unfortunately, the spice level fell short of my expectations, leaning more toward mild than hot. When I brought this to our waitress's attention, her solution was to provide a spice tray rather than offering to adjust the dish in the kitchen. While I appreciated her prompt response, I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed by the lack of engagement in resolving the issue to my satisfaction. Despite this minor setback, I must say that the overall dining experience was enjoyable. The ambiance was pleasant, and the remainder of the meal was delightful. This bistro undoubtedly offers a little piece of Thailand right here in Venice, Florida. I am leaving a four-star review in the hope that Thai Bistro takes this constructive feedback into consideration and makes the necessary adjustments to ensure the 'Thai hot' indeed reflects the rich and fiery flavors we all love about Thai cuisine. Thai Bistro remains a good choice for Thai food lovers, and I look forward to our next visit, hopeful for an even better experience."
