"This tiny little unassuming place is a hidden gem. We happened to be in Lake Wales and stopped in for lunch. The food was all fresh and made to order. Absolutely fantastic. My blackened grouper didn't last long enough to be photographed. Nor did my wife's fish tacos. My sons got the alfredo and the beer battered cod. Both were reticent to share. Great portions and friendly staff. Makes you feel like a regular. Will definitely "happen to be" in Lake Wales more often."

"This is a great seafood restaurant located in downtown Lake Wales. We tried a variety of items, and everything was very good. It's one of the few seafood restaurants in the area that serves Manhattan Clam Chowder. Our server was very friendly and did a great job, too."
"My friends and I go to Melanie’s on a frequent basis. The hometown/ family owned environment is good for the soul and so is the food. The staff is so friendly and every dish I have had at this restaurant has been top notch and you can tell everything is cooked fresh! We will continue to return and tell all of our friends about this little Lake Wales Gem! Pictured is the Salmon plate with sweet potato fries, the lightly battered 1/2 lb shrimp with French fries, and chocolate cake! I also highly recommend the Fish Rueben!"
