Neuro Imaging Winter Park

"Super disappointed, I was referred here for annual MRI’s so I decided to take my mom that had been ordered a brain MRI my mother is elderly she was taken in by one tech that was a new lady, per front desk, and then was accommodated by the other tech that was familiar to me. However, that tech (female dark hair) left pretending she was coming back as she saw I was going to ask her a question. My mother was left with the new lady that never even asked how she was doing during the MRI, like they ask me when I’ve gone for my MRI’s. Furthermore, they took her word for it when ahe was asked if she had metal in her clothes and never made sure she was safe to go in the magnetom without changing into a gown. Thankfully I’m a nurse and knew how to prepare for an MRI and told my mother to wear a sports bra and a pant without zipper so she would have no wires or metal buttons on her which is very risky since the MRI is a giant magnet. This was extremely reckless from the technician (a blind older lady) who also had very poor bed side manners. Not sure if she was shy or what it was but when you’re dealing with patients and EAP elderly she should be more careful. The story is even longer but I will leave up to here. STAY AWAY FEOM THIS PLACE ITS NOT WHAT IT WAS. FRONT DESK NICE BUT REALLY DONT LISTEN I ASKED FOR SEDATION AND WHEN WE GOT THERE THEY TOLD ME IT WAS TOO LATE FOR THAT. NEW EMPLOYEES NOT THE SAME SERVICE. I WOULD NEVER WANT A PATIENT OF MINE TO GO FOR AN MRI HERE."

"Neuro Imaging, Winter Park made my first MRI experience so peaceful! The walls are decorated with classic photos of US Presidents, spectacular moments in all sports, Walt Disney & Mickey! It was like touring a museum and I nearly forgot I was there for MRI! Checkin was high tech yet easy and the staff very friendly and made me comfortable. Kudos to Dr Shapiro who discovered that images can remove fear from imaging!"

"Really great experience! I was super anxious about getting an MRI for the first time and the MRI tech was extremely helpful and kind. He gave me mirrored glasses so I could see out the end of the machine so I'd feel less claustrophobic. When I went into the machine, he talked me through it and put my hand on the outside of the machine so I could feel how far in I was. Then during the scan, he played my choice of music (Harry Styles) the entire time and would come on the speaker every now and again to let me know how much time I had left. He also gave me a bolster to put under my knees while so my back didn't hurt from laying down for a long time. What could've turned into a panic attack for me ended up being a very comfortable experience. Thank you so much! If I need more imaging, this is definitely where I will be coming back. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs imaging, especially those who are anxious about it."

"I recently required several MRI studies and returned to Neuro Imaging, a practice I had first visited 7 years ago. Neuro Imaging goes out of their way to make diagnostic imaging about human connection and ensuring patient comfort. I was welcomed by the staff, taken great care of, and of course the cutting-edge wide-bore 3T scanner makes for a comfortable and quick exam. A week ago I had been crammed into an old standard-bore 1.5T MRI scanner for a study on my neck that took 30 minutes--I'm not claustrophobic, but I was certainly uncomfortable! In stark contrast, two exams at Neuro Imaging took 20 minutes total, and there was night and day difference in both my comfort and how the staff took care to make sure I was OK at all times. Dr. Shapiro runs a gem of a practice with great people delivering great care."
