Crabby's Dockside Clearwater

"Crabby's Dockside is a restaurant that has impressed us on both our visits. While they have other locations in Clearwater Beach, we found the view from this particular restaurant to be our favorite. On this visit, we decided to try some additional items alongside our usual favorites. For appetizers, we indulged in fried alligator and coconut shrimp. The batter on the fried alligator was exceptionally tasty, adding a nice crunch to the tender meat. The coconut shrimp provided a delightful tropical twist, with a perfect balance of sweetness and savory flavors. As always, the fish and chips, clam chowder, and crab cakes were a hit. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the chips (french fries) remained unbeatable. They were golden and crispy on the outside, while soft and fluffy on the inside. It's no wonder they are highly regarded. The servers at Crabby's Dockside were friendly, responsive, and attentive to our needs. They made sure our soda glasses were never empty by offering free refills, which was a nice touch. In terms of seating options, the restaurant offers three outdoor areas and one indoor space with air conditioning. "First let me start out by saying our waitress was amazing and the drinks were great. However our food was terrible. I ordered the Key West Grilled which was recommended as our servers favorite dish, but I was extremely disappointed. The mahi was thin and overcooked which made it tough. The shrimp seemed to be undercooked. The dish overall lacked seasoning. I did not like my meal at all. My partner ordered the lobster tail. We heard great things about it but it was the worst lobster tail he has ever had. It was extremely overcooked and chewy. He had to spit out two pieces for being too chewy. Overall we are disappointed and will not recommend to anyone else."

"Fabulous shrimp. Great atmosphere. Waitress was fabulous. They had the best coleslaw I've ever eaten. It's a must go if you have the chance!!!"

"We did the outdoor seating here, and it’s great for people watching during good weather. Our server was absolutely one of the best that I have ever had. He was very attentive and friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The hogfish with the Parmesan crust was absolutely fantastic. I would come back and get that again in a heartbeat. The fish tacos were also good. I would not recommend the hush puppies. There were some very strange and dense about them. I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area."
