"Mariyam operates the absolute most professional hair braiding operation throughout the entirety of Metro Atlanta. My family drove from several cities over, passing several dozen hair braiding businesses along the way, to get to Mariyam because of her sterling and well deserved reputation. And we were completely satisfied and grateful to have had an opportunity to do so. I feel privileged that my wife allows me to take part in her hair care. From manufacturing our own shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, braid spray, hair oil, hot oil treatments, hair butter and body wash at home, to sourcing higher quality braiding hair to import, and selecting the most talented braiders for installation, I truly enjoy being a part of the process. Therefore, I have interacted with several braiders throughout the decades I have been with my wife. I can say unequivocally that Mariyam is the most professional, talented, transparent, honest and trustworthy business owner in the braiding space. Additionally, her prices are phenomenal. Mariyam seemingly prides herself on treating people fairly and offering affordable rates. To put this in perspective, I called and texted no less than two dozen braiders throughout the Gwinnett County area and was quoted prices as high as SIX times what Mariyam charged. Furthermore, considering her well-deserved 5 Star rating, I would have expected her to be on the higher end of that wide ranging spectrum. She wasn’t. Instead, I called her and told her what my wife wanted and she gave me a transparent price, actually saying I feel like this a “fair price” for what you want. Her price was very reasonable and, indeed, more than fair. And she actually honored her quoted price. I understand this shouldn’t be extraordinary. Therefore, allow me to put this into proper perspective by providing an account of our most recent experience having braids installed. My wife and I used the services of a different and more local braider. This braider was also well reputed online, but with far less reviews than Mariyam. This braider provided an affordable rate the first time we used her services. Thinking we would be rewarded for offering our continued business, we booked another appointment months later. That was when common shenanigans began by this business operator. She quoted one price but changed her price last second while my wife was in the chair. Then she raised the price further in the middle of installing the braids, lying that more hair was needed than anticipated and citing the need for an additional braider to help with installation. All this after missing an appointment and showing up late for a rescheduled appointment. Suffice to say we were in the market for a new braider as soon as we left. Thankfully, we found Mariyam next. Finally, on the morning of our appointment, due no doubt to the quality and affordability of her services, Mariyam’s team was overbooked. However, Mariyam herself came to the rescue by installing my wife’s braids personally. And let me tell you, she installed the micro braids in roughly the same amount of time as the last braider did with the help of an extra braider. She respected my wife’s request to leave her edges unbraided and therefore my wife didn’t have any locks of hair break off. The braids weren’t overly tight either. Which means she has been able to enjoy her hairstyle for a full TEN weeks already! And without any damage to her natural hair. Lastly, we used a top tier quality braiding hair imported directly from Nigeria and I honestly believe ONLY Mariyam could have successfully installed it so well. "I love love love my hair!! I had a hair appointment with someone else and they canceled on me a hour before. I called Mariyam’s shop for the first time and sent her a picture of what I wanted and she was very accommodating. I was basically a walk in. I loved the experience; everyone one is so nice and the salon is so cute. They are very professional. When I tell braiders now a days that I want small knotless they do their own interpretation and it ends up being medium. Then matched the picture I showed them exactly I have no complaintdown will definitely be coming back and referring others. I first saw the shop on tik tok and it is definitely worth the hype! Runnn don’t walk to get your hair done this summer you won’t regret it!!! The second picture is from my second visit there… I’m in love. I got the braids above^^ taken out washed blow dried and rebraided all in one day. If you’re looking to have no down time in between styles this shop is the place for you.
