"This place is absolutely amazing! The food was great! Customer service...everyone greeted us upon our arrival as if we were celebrities! Music was off the chain. I almost 2 stepped while eating! Very relaxing laid back atmosphere. I'm from Indiana so the parking sucks near the restaurant but other than that...I'm my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice " I'll be back!""

"It's wonderful to be able to enjoy uniquely Black spaces near my home where the service and atmosphere are excellent. Black Dot truly hails back to a time where a community gathering spot was truly a one stop shop of culture, knowledge, wisdom, food, fun, growth, and experience. You may come for the coffee, the conversations, the bookstore, a poetry reading, an open mic, a community activist event, a wellness seminar, a venue, or just a lunch date, but you truly leave with something much more special and intangible-- a safe space."

"Love, Love, Love it!!! This black-owned gem is EVERYTHING!!! Fresh coffee, hot buttery croissants, & books!! What’s not to love!! It is quaint shop with great music and a definite African flair with amazing art and local made items to purchase! I ordered a latte made with Bali Natural. It’s a full bodied medium roast that was amazingly smooth and delicious!! I’m usually a dark roast drinker but this was everything!!! Oh and the Bombe Natural is delicious as well! You can really taste the blueberry and strawberry notes! It just has a natural sweetness. We even got a coffee lesson from the owner, Kaz!! He was so knowledgeable and friendly! Tay was too!! I walked away with a coffee lesson, free Juneteenth books for my grandsons, and future business prospects!!!"

"I stopped by while visiting my family and I absolutely loved this place. The vibes were chill and the aesthetic was homely and calm. They sell different beverages and they even made my husband a special chai tea because he didn’t know what to order. Be sure to check out the book selections, jewelry, stones, and cleansers too!"

"Really cool place to hang out and have some delicious coffee! Stopped by on my way from the airport and discovered this place because of Google!! The owner was there and was very welcoming, so was the barista. There are pretty cool books and art available too. They let me know that they usually have open-mic night on Thursdays so go check it out!"
