"I applied to this school because I wanted to be mentored by Ms. Sherita. I LOVE this school!! They are very professional and really want the students to learn. I thought I knew alot because I worked in my mom’s salon growing up- so I was comfortable with doing hair- but I did not know the business part. To my surprise I learned so much-so fast. This school focus on making sure you understand how to run your business and be confident to do clients. The instructors worked with us until we understood, we go on field trips-which makes some days more fun. I Love our Cosmetology Kits. We have the best cosmetology Kits, we get everything in them to learn. My friend that goes to another school does not have half of the things that I got and she pays a lot more for school. I did not have to take out a school loan so I will graduating debt free and focus on building my clientele. I have learned so much about hair color-which is my favorite. I absolutely love Ms. Sherita. She is honest with us and she has pushed me past what I ever thought I would be as a hair stylist. I am so thankful that I found this school. I have made great friendships here and it’s like a family. My work is so much better, I work fast and more confident, I contribute this to my time under Ms. Sherita. "I applied to MAK Beauty Institute because I wanted to be trained by Ms. Sherita- I followed her and her daughter for many years and was excited that she was opening a school near my house. VERY PROFESSIONAL!! I am growing so fast. I was so nervous because she actually had me doing roller sets my first day. "I came in and got a wash and press and it was done beautifully. The salon is really clean and organized and all the staff are very friendly and polite. My hair was done by one of the students and she was very gentle with my hair. She recommended I get a trim and informed on why my hair was shedding so much. Definitely recommend going to them!"
