"I would write an entire review on this place but I don't have the character limit to. To summarize, this was one of the absolute worst, most traumatic, and dehumanizing experiences of my life. I came in with suicidal thoughts but left with what I thought was a sure plan to commit suicide because of the treatment I received here. The only reason I am alive today is due to my wonderful family and the team of doctors I had once I arrived home in Florida. In this distressing experience, I arrived at a mental health facility seeking help for my suicidal thoughts but ended up enduring an incredibly traumatic ordeal. The ER room I was kept in for days had minimal amenities, and I had to plead with nurses for basic necessities like tampons while dealing with my period. Staff members were disrespectful, referring to me as a mere number and disregarding my health concerns. I was denied medication, group meals, and basic human decency. The psychiatrist assigned to my case was not only dismissive but also hostile, making inappropriate remarks and refusing to listen to my concerns about my own care. Individual counseling was nonexistent, and the groups offered were predominantly focused on addiction, which didn't address my needs. Requests for hygiene products were ignored, and it took days for my personal belongings to reach me. I felt threatened and punished for seeking help, which only worsened my mental state. This experience left me deeply scarred, and I urge for urgent reforms in mental health facilities and the removal of specific staff members to ensure others don't have to go through what I did."

"The therapist , psychiatrist staff, behavioral counselors, and addition counselors are phenomenal. Can’t forget the wonderful nursing staff as well. If only I’d done this months ago maybe I wouldn’t have struggled as much. It’s only been 30 days and yet I feel like I have the tools to go back out and deal with life on life’s terms."

"Outpatient needs a lot of work. They discharged my cousin without even trying to work with her and mainly over rules they changed themselves. The staff is all over the place and they try to teach communication yet can’t do it themselves. Shameful."

"I have never received this level of care in my life. I am so thankful for the team that helped me. The ER part of behavioral is pretty scary, but the doctors were so kind. Once you get to the Piedmont Behavioral floor they will 100% take great care of you. I am so grateful for the kindness all of the staff showed me in my difficult time and am grateful for the resources given to me. Thank you, Piedmont!"

"The staff here is incredible. They take a frightening experience and make it manageable. They really care about getting you better and getting you whatever tools you may need to thrive after you leave. Of course every mental facility has some patients that are sick in different ways, so sometimes other's illnesses can seem frightening and stressful, but the staff advocates for all their patients, and midigates stressors as best they can. If you want to get help, go here. But treat this staff with respect. They deserve it."
