"Edit: I would never bring my boots back here to be resoled. I was first told 4-6 weeks. Called up at the end of 6 weeks and then was told 6-8 weeks. It has now been over 10 weeks and if I didn't end up calling corporate I wouldn't know the status as the people at the store are not helpful at all. Wide variety of boots and shoes. Always friendly service. Free waterproofing and laces. I recently brought in a pair to be resoled. I was told it would be a while,so I looked into buying a new pair so I had someone to wear in the meantime. I ended up purchasing the same style, but in a safety toe (all they had in store). I had dirty wet socks at the store, so I didn't try them on until I got home. They were way too tight in the toe and across the ball of the foot. Being a safety toe I felt like they wouldn't stretch out, so I went to return them. Easy peasy, but now I'm stuck without boots as it seemed for some reason they couldn't or wouldn't order in the non-safety toe version?"

"I bought my first pair of Vasque hiking boots here in 2001 for my very first backpacking trip with the Boy Scouts. Those boots have become companions of mine, traveling with me all over the country and world. Nineteen years later, I finally needed to replace them and decided where better to go than the place I got my originals, Red Wing on Woodman. I live in Chicago now, but was back in Dayton for a brief trip to visit family. From the moment I walked in everyone was nothing but accommodating, taking whatever precautions guests needed to feel comfortable during Covid times. Michelle, the store's manager, informed me stock was low due to supply line disruption attributed to Covid, but she gave me her recommendations in the catalogues based upon what I had previously owned and allowed me time to look things over in detail and select my preference. She even helped me size my shoes correctly with other in-stock pairs as it had been since high school when I last purchased new boots. I found the pair I liked, and we put it on order to be delivered to my address in Chicago. She gave me her card to call if there should be any delay. The package arrived within a week, quicker than I anticipated, and the boots fit just perfectly. Excited for the second chapter with my new Vasque hiking boots. Boots are so much more than just shoes, they are the vessel to adventure, one's companions and lifeline on the trail. This store understands that. Thanks Michelle and Red Wing!
