"Absolutely ridiculous! They don’t answer their phone nor do they return phone calls or emails. I left a message and an email regarding a stray male dog that’s been roaming around my neighborhood carrying trash in his mouth. He needs help and I never heard back from them. If you ask me it sounds like they don’t care about animals because if they did they would’ve contacted me back right away and that dog would be safe inside a warm building instead of being outside in the cold starving. I hope they see this review and feel terrible that they basically ignored a Good Samaritan trying to save an animal’s life."

"The Rhode Island SPCA has been accepting transports from Public Animal Welfare Services in Rome GA for several years. A coworker and myself were lucky enough to visit their facility in May of 2022, and being a northern east coast rescue worker, it was a total culture shock. The quality of care the animals are provided is outstanding especially when considering the sheer number of animals in their building at any given time. Their shelter is clean, and well maintained. I can also honestly say we have never gotten a bad animal from them. A transport of 20 cats that was taken in September of 2022 were adopted within a seven days of coming off the transport truck. We believe it would’ve been a shorter length of stay if we had made them adoptable right away, but we allowed them some decompression time. PAWS does an excellent job of accommodating to state guidelines, and our shelter’s expectations as far as veterinary care the animals receive prior to transport. And as far as personalities go, all of the animals we receive have a Georgia charm that one just cannot immediately fall in love with. Any shelter that accepts transports from PAWS should count themselves lucky to partner with such a dedicated group who works tirelessly to serve their community and the animals who live in it. Olivia Warburton Cat and Small Animal Manager Rhode Island SPCA P.S. Attached is a photo of THE BEST CAT EVER - a cat named Reni who gave everyone he met hugs! Thank you PAWS for sending us this awesome guy, who didn’t even last us 3 days!"

"I'm going to keep it at three until I know my baby didn't get put down. I used to be able walk him and play with him but I'm pregnant and my mobility is limited due to my foot problems. We are also moving into a apartment. I didn't want him on a chain either. I took him here as a past resort and I pray to god he gets adopted."
