"A nice, easy in-and-out trail. Fairly well-maintained, but the trash can at the pavilion hasn't been emptied in a year. I know the Corps Of Engineers is woefully underfunded, so that's just an observation, not a complaint. I always pick up other people's trash - beer cans, water bottles, candy wrappers, etc - and pack it out with me. Not heavily used, which is very nice. I get to see the resident fox squirrels from time to time, which is a highlight. The boardwalk that traverses the beaver swamp is getting rickety and a little scary. I hope the government throws a little money in the COE's direction, so it can be repaired/replaced, as it's an outstanding area for waterbird photography."

"❤️❤️❤️I took my 4 and 12 year old. They had fun and were able to run ahead. The trail is marked and clear. The breeze from the lake is cool."

"The creek is nothing special, but the trail is wide and maintained. This is a nice place for a relaxing walk through a beautiful forested area. Too bad the trail never gets really close to the lake; however, there are areas further down the road from which the lake can be better seen."
