"It was our first time at Akins Park. The cajun was authentic and yummy. The place wasn't crazy busy, but it's a nice size for larger parties. The bar is a nice size. Jambalaya and Gumbo were so freaking good. Staff was friendly and speedy. We will be back."
"Went with my sister and her friends, so since it was my first time meeting them, I only took a pic of my meal - it was 5 of us total and our table was packed. Albeit great personality - the waitress didn't do a great job of noticing that our table needed cleaning up while our appetizers & glasses piled up... literally struggling with plate placement. That aside, she was lovely & I enjoyed all the apps I tried (by all I mean the pork dumplings & wings which I couldn't stop stuffing my face with you'd think it was the main dish). Everyone else said the Mac+Cheese Bombs & the Fried Green Tomatoes were great. I was hoping that with a name like Drunken Pork Tenderloin, I'd taste more bourbon that it being just a glaze. Otherwise, I enjoyed this meal - it was a rainy October night and the meal had enough depth for the price, felt homely, the music good, and the vibe right. Will be back to try other items on the menu."
"This place has such a nice atmosphere. It's not what I expected. The people who work here are amazing. My drunk was the best. The fried green tomato was way better than I thought it would be. My friends liked their poboys and fries. My shrimp and grits were good. I suggest making the grits less thick and add more sauce and it would have been perfect. I will definitely dine here again."
