"As far as man made lakes go, this one is very nice! It's quite large, being made by the damming up of the Chattahoochee River (the inspiration for the Deliverance movie). With that comes lots of small islands and hundreds of nice little coves to hang out in. As long as it isn't a major holiday, since 90% of Atlanta send to be there at those times, you can get pretty private! I take a small boat or I'm with friends that have boats. This lake is looong and deep, and 50 ft boats are not uncommon. Even bigger houseboats! It's great for kayaking, jet skis, paddle boards - all shirts of watersports. Even scuba! There are a couple of submerged towns caused by the dam, and some unfortunate stories to go with. That's why you may hear some parts of the lake are >>>haunted"
