"Pros: Staff is pretty nice and there's plenty to do. Lots of creative minds on staff, and the place is kept spotless. Most food is middling, as hospital food tends to be, but some things are surprisingly delicious. There are a variety of activities for patients to engage with in their downtime (cards, coloring, puzzles, sudoku, board games, origami, multiple TVs, crosswords, journals, books, basketball, cornhole, sidewalk chalk) and frequent outside breaks in a lovely courtyard. Therapy groups are engaging and varied. They have cigarettes if you smoke, or you can bring your own. There are donated clothes you can borrow so you're not wearing scrubs constantly. There's also a church service on Sundays if you're Christian. Techs are quick to respond to requests and complaints and make you feel heard. Never once saw an employee lose their temper with a patient, no matter how crazy things got. The CEO is also frequently in the building, checking up on his employees and the patients. At one point, one of the meal servers was absent, so he grabbed gloves and helped to serve the food. Pretty much everyone on staff/in the company gives everything they can to the job. Cons: Was not given a paper copy of patient rights and responsibilities upon admission. There was a poster on the wall, but it would have been nice to have that sooner rather than later. I brought it up with the CEO, though (again, everyone here is very approachable) and he said they'd do better with making sure they were communicated. A very small percentage of the techs would discuss personal issues or medical conditions of patients within earshot of other patients, but I brought it up to a tech and she said this would be taken to HR. Things were running slowly while I was there, but they were also at full capacity for patients and working to get people out as fast as possible. The book collection is small and about 30% NIV Bibles. Just by the fact that they're working constantly to improve themselves and the openness to feedback makes this one of the best psych wards I've been in. Also the courtyard having actual grass and not just being a concrete box was nice. Would highly recommend to anyone struggling."

"Be careful!!!! The staff there does not share all the information you need prior to coming!!! Once you have your child there, they are incarcerated until they feel YOUR child is ready to be released! You are not allowed to take your child with you when you want. That might be good for some of you, but not for others who want some help it is a nightmare! I think my daughter is worse now than before going there since she was not allowed to leave when her own mother asked for her to be released!!!!!!"
