"On 16 October 2023, I was quoted $200 over the phone for a tuneup on my Mazda cx5. Mid Georgia charged me $250 in labor, $19 dollars for a spark plug and $193 for an ignition coil when I picked it up on the 17th. One spark plug got changed the tuneup. My vehicle made it about 30 more miles from the service center and I had the same trouble. They did not fix the issue and had the audacity to charge me $250 in labor for a tuneup that did not happen. I limped my car home, paid $50 for 4 spark plugs and fixed my issue. This isn’t a question of overcharging, I didn’t have a big issue paying the money but most tuneups consist of changing all the spark plugs which would have actually fixed the issue. Charging $200 and changing all the spark plugs would have fixed the issue. Instead I went out of pocket for an unnecessary ignition coil and another $275."
