"I was looking at multiple homes. One home I had to put Earnest Money down and then I backed out. I knew that I lost that money because of the specific agreements in the contract. Somehow I still received a check from Northwest, so I thought maybe there was some sort of agreement that was made. So I put the money in the bank, and went about my day. A month later I get a call saying I have to write a check for that EM bc they accidentally sent me a refund for it. Mind you this was the 3rd time I had written a check for these funds because the seller had been HUD, that check wasn’t good enough, got mailed back and luckily a Northwest employee (Jennifer is amazing) was able to go back and forth twice to chauffeur the checks around because HUD wanted it so particular after they had made their mistake of issuing it to me in the first place. So then I went into contract with another home and actually bought it. Everything so far has gone well as far as I know, but I have been issued another check, and I am leery to cash it. It is those little mistakes made by somebody that make a person nervous about what could be wrong streamlined across the rest of the process. When closing one of the Documents had my real name spelled wrong on it. So I had to point it out. I also was the one that found out the bill hadn’t been paid for water/trash for 4 months by seller, but was told title doesn’t catch unless extreme situations, so I was glad I had called. Agents had not. Otherwise it was an ok experience."
