"Great atmosphere, the place has a nice charm and pretty good service. Been around awhile. The rice and hash was pretty cool as well as the Cole slaw. I was very disappointed in the sliced brisket. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars but the brisket was abysmal. Very tough cold and dry bricks of meat. I am hoping it was just a bad batch. I love BBQ but someone couldn’t pay me to eat that brisket again. I’ll try again in a few months when hopefully their quality control is better."
"I had the plantation platter so I could try everything. I would de come back here again if in the area. Th only reason I didn’t give this place a 5 was the brisket was a little tough. Great flavor but just not as tender as it could be. BBQ , hash, ribs, chicken, and house made potato salad were all very good. The portions were gigantic and the service was excellent."
"Ms Holly gave that great Southern hospitality with a smile to add to my experience. Unfortunately the food lacked taste. I ordered the 1/2 lb pork bbq & hash plate with potato salad. For some reason it was just bland. I tried working the different sauces, but it just didn’t do it for me. It was cool restaurant though. Had a lot of charm. You could tell they’ve been around a while. I’d try them again if in the area. I wanted to like very much, but just couldn’t get into the plate…."
"The atmosphere is awesome. Very beautiful restaurant. The hash and rice was great as well as the potato salad. The ribs were a little disappointing, especially for the price. There was not a lot of meat on them. The mild BBQ sauce was not for me. It didn't strike me as a BBQ sauce as it did a vinegar dip."
"The platter was delicious! Had to get an extra bowl of Hash and Rice. Picked up a few bottles of sauce for my Northern Friends to try. And was reminded how good real “Southern Sweet Iced Tea” is!"
