"I really wanted to like this practice because everyone was so nice and I appreciated the knowledge and professionalism of the dental care providers. However, this practice does NOT accept insurance of any kind since the dentist has chosen to become a non-restricted provider. When I called and asked if my insurance was accepted by this practice, I was told "Yes," by Amanda. Needless to say, I was very upset to learn differently. I have a written correspondence from Amanda which states, "I remember your question to me was if we took MetLife and the answer is Yes. I was never asked if Dr. Lopez was an "in network" provider." My belief, at that time, was that if you asked a provider if they accepted your insurance, the question is implicitly asking if the provider is "in network." Lesson learned. But telling patients you accept their insurance without telling them the practice is out-of-network is dishonest. Unfortunately, because I liked this practice so much, I recommended it to three other people who subsequently went, one of whom is my husband. MetLife denied our claims and we are out over $700.00 AND the premiums we have paid to the insurance company. MetLife wrote, "You would have saved this money had you gone to an in-network provider." I urge you to read the FAQ on their webpage before going to this practice because that information will not be given to you if you call. I plan to file an ethics complaint."
