"It hurts me to give this place such a low rating. I’ve been coming to this nail salon since I was 15 years old. It’s been 19 years. I’ve seen Linda, Sherry, Ana, Judy, Lisa — and they’re all super polite, professional, and welcoming. Customer service wise they are phenomenal. If it weren’t for that, then I would have given one star. I’ve had moments during my time of coming here that I’d promise to never go back because of the lack of cleanliness and proper nail hygiene. But then I end up giving them another chance, mostly because of my mother since we always go together. The nail salon is within walking distance for her so for that reason she refuses to go anywhere else (she doesn’t drive). Then, COVID hit and I noticed they slightly improved their cleaning. Today (11/28/2021) will unfortunately be my last day of coming here. I usually make an appointment beforehand but I figured they should have some availability for just a powder manicure. When I walked in there were only two clients getting a pedicure. I asked Linda if it’s ok to get a powder manicure right now and that it’s ok if they don’t have availability, I’ll come back another day. She said that it was fine and one of the girls helped me. I wish she hadn’t because she rushed throughout the entire manicure. I felt as if she was rushing to get me out of there and did not feel that she was being attentive. My hand kept hitting the other objects on the table since it was too cluttered. On top of that, the nail dust brush was dirty as it had nail polish stuck to it. The cuticle cleaner looked like it wasn’t properly sterilized given that the plastic container it was in wasn’t clean. The table was not wiped before I sat down. Usually they wipe it and lay a paper towel on there but I noticed they haven’t been doing that lately (only if you’re getting tips or removing gel/powder nails). As if that wasn’t enough, there was a pungent odor to the room as soon as I walked in. It smelled horrible and in a way, I’m glad I was able to quickly get out of there. Anyways, the nail technician finished and I took a look at my nails and did not like them at all. There were areas that we’re not filled properly and the color did not look like the color I had chosen (048) which was a bit lighter then what you see in the picture. I told the lady (I’m not providing her name on purpose out of respect) exactly this and she just smiled. Then she told me to talk to Linda. I showed Linda and she too noticed the nails weren’t fully filled. I told her that I wasn’t satisfied with today’s service given that I’m a long time customer. I told her that I specifically asked if you guys are available. If she was going to rush and do a poor job, she should not have taken me. She listened and apologized. To spare her from further embarrassment from the client that was in front of her, I said it’s ok next time. But there won’t be a next time. I will never be returning to this place again which saddens me. I do hope they look at their reviews and take proper precautions when it comes to nail care as it is very easy to get an infection. They are, at the end of the day, very good people. I do hope future clients reading this take this review with a grain of salt. It was just a tipping point for me after all these years of hoping they might change. Best of luck."

"I’ve been going here for about 10 years now. I feel right at home. Prices are fair. They are not the most modern but you don’t need the look for me it’s the quality of work. They know me when i call and even know my box number. I go to Shirley but all of the staff is capable of doing great work. They don’t rush their work and it’s great every time. The businesses on the same block don’t look to be doing well but hoping these guys stay in business for a long time."

"I wouldn't actually know how the salon is because they wouldn't see me. I called to make sure if I came in at 6:30 for a gel manicure it would be okay since they close at 7:30. I walked in at 6:20 and they said sorry not today. Needless to say I don't think I will be going back."
