About the Business

Seneca Park

Seneca Park, located in Rochester, New York, is a 297-acre park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. This beautiful park offers a variety of natural elements and recreational areas for visitors to enjoy. With three picnic shelters, the Wegman Lodge, playgrounds, hiking trails, open fields, and a large pond with a paved walking path, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Visitors can also take in scenic views of the Genesee River gorge.

Originally known as North Park, Seneca Park was renamed to reflect its meaning of "stone." The park features Trout Lake, created by damming a natural spring, and once offered swan boat rides around the lake until 1922. The park is home to one bathroom facility available between May 1st and October 15th, located near the Longhouse Shelter.

For more information or to make reservations, visitors can contact 585-753-PARK (7275) or use the Online Lodge & Shelter Reservation System. Seneca Park is located at 2222 St. Paul Street in Rochester, along the eastern bank of the Genesee River. Enter the park from St. Paul Street, just north of Route 104. Come explore the beauty of Seneca Park and enjoy all that it has to offer.

"Very nice park. If you walk from the park entrance to the end of the pond it's about a mile, I think. Nice exercise. My dog and I took the trail today. It's well marked with red flags. She had a blast jumping in the pond when we got there. Unfortunately, she chose the less populated part of the pond (the very mucky part) and earned herself a bath when we got home, but she had fun, and so did I."

"I like the zoo, but the spot is the hiking trail and pond out back! At least 3 trails I have found, goes all the way to the lake. Great place to walk and relax with nature."

"It was fun and most of the animals were out. I was upset they didn't really have any food there"
