"Moldy uncomfortable Inn. Don’t go! Disappointing from the moment we saw it. Strong smell of mold on the first floor plastic flower arrangements inside and out. In need of new mattresses and bed covers. They’re too hard and worn out. Since I was a paid guest I thought it would be ok/helpful to let our host, Edith, know the shower head in our bathroom was broken. I asked if she had a plumber that could replace it. She immediately became combative and called me rude. I knew it was a lost cause, I dropped it. There was no place else to stay in the area it was parents weekend at Bard college. Edith did offer to let us change rooms but I had a strong feeling it was just going to be more of the same. The location is good and Breakfast was good but that’s about it. I see other more positive reviews but I find them hard to believe. Just don’t go."

"Smelly and moldy odors. Beds hard as a rock. Needs complete overhaul. Shower head spits water and windows hardly work. If you are prone to allergies stay away. Owner not open to discussion about conditions. Do not recommend ."

"We just came back from staying at the Bittersweet Inn and it was clean,quiet and close to everything we wanted to do. Beautiful home away from home! The hosts were very nice and the room was great. We will definitely stay there again when visiting York, Maine. Joanne and Bill"

"Edith was amazing! We were staying for a weekend retreat at the Omega Institute, and she catered to all of our needs while we were there. Her home cooked breakfasts were well worth it and the room was comfortable. Definitely worth it as a quiet place to rest or heads."
