"It's been our family's go-to whenever we take the train to the ocean. There are times I make the 90 min subway ride just to get my favorite foods. Their buffet is extensive, cleanliness is well maintained ( I have never had issues with spoiled food or food poisoning), the ladies manning the weighing station, counters and cash registers friendly and professional, and the dishes are really delicious. Some sell out as soon as they leave the kitchen. I was there 3 days ago, and got lucky to snag the last 3 fish burgers and veal mushroom burgers. I even asked the lady helping me to please give my compliments to the chef. Other personal favorites include stuffed cabbage, herring under a fur coat Russian salad, chicken burgers and kebabs, mutton pilaf and sauerkraut. There are also dairy, cold meats and smoked fish counters, as well as a variety of desserts, breads and canned/dry goods. I can't say enough good things about the place! One thing to keep in mind: they don't accept Discover or AMEX."
"Great selection of hot buffet food, salads, cheese, and cold cuts. Prices are pretty reasonable for the buffet, ranging from around $4-$8/lb. Although you can find buffet items cheaper elsewhere, the quality here is better than other places in my opinion."
"Super! Just because it's Russian and so so native. You come here and see all Russian brands, varieties of OUR cooked food, so healthy and different (from real products,not from cans or packs! no junk). Prices are low. Saleswomen are pleasant. Ready-made food is delicious-I took fish he, sqash roll,stuffed with cheese and mushrooms, herring under fur coat:)Great if you miss Russia! And those cakes...OMG! Kievskii, napoleon, muraveinik, "cookies salami", medivik-i finished them all alone (1 a day,of course:),but I come back for more and more. And lady selling cakes is very kind and ready to help with every question. Strictly recommend!"
"Hot knish from the window lady is a must. Inside a nice hot/cold by the pound food bar. It does get cramped inside with the narrow isles. I asked for a taste of a nice looking pastry and they were very happy to give me a piece."
