About the Business

Camp Unirondack is a unique institution located at 8722 Unirondack Road in Lowville, New York, United States. We offer a variety of new trips in the Adirondacks specifically designed for adult campers. Our mission is to empower youth to envision and create an inclusive world that they want to live in, and together we explore all it has to offer with curiosity, silliness, and joy.

At Camp Unirondack, inclusivity and intentional community are more than just buzzwords - they are at the core of everything we do. We are currently fundraising to support access to our new BIPOC retreat, Roots and Wings, which aims to offer zero-cost attendance to those facing financial barriers.

Our camp experience is built on the feedback and ideas of our campers, who are actively involved in creating a community they are excited to be a part of. We prioritize voices from lived experiences when discussing how to make camp more inclusive and expansive.

While we do have affinity spaces, Camp Unirondack is not exclusive to any specific group or identity. We embrace intersectional collaboration and healthy conflict as we navigate differing needs and resources. We believe that conflict is an opportunity for growth and understanding.

Our philosophy is intentional and inclusivity-minded, as we believe that everyone deserves to experience joy and a sense of belonging. We are committed to creating a space where everyone can feel supported and cared for, so that we can all focus on enjoying the boundless joy that can only be found at Camp Unirondack.

"There isn't a single aspect of Camp Unirondack I'd rate less than 5/5 stars. The grounds are gorgeous; the staff and admin are fantastic, creative and well-organized; the atmosphere is warm and supportive; there's tons of stuff to do but the pace is what campers make of it rather than rigorously scheduled. It's a little utopia :)."

"Love this place, but ffs, STOP MAKING ANNOUNCEMENTS BEFORE LETTING US EAT. YOU CAN DO IT DURING OR AFTER, JUST SHUT UP AND LET ME EAT. DAMN."

"So much fun on a women's weekend The Saturday morning quiche was great w a home made crust. Other meals were hit or miss, be on time or it will all be gone. Snacks were served in a very cleaver way, each person was given a masons jar and created there own snack mix for the weekend. The was a lot of stairs, and more stairs. Bring your cane and trail running boots. Happily, your new friends will give you a lift if need be. Expect uneven paths, it is a wonderful camp ground in the mountains. Plan to go next year!. Staff was wonderful, friendly, accessible and made the experience much more enjoyable with a very communicative leadership style. Thank you camp Unirondack and cousin Paula."

"An awesome camp, welcoming and open to youth of all persuasions. Located on Beaver Lake in Adirondack mountains. My son has been going there for years as a camper and now that he is in college, looking to work there. They also have camps for families (in the most broad sense of the word) and adults."
