Albany Samurai Arts is a health institution located at 3 Johnson Road in Latham, New York, United States. At Albany Samurai Arts, we specialize in the study of samurai martial arts, focusing on Japanese sword arts and classical weaponry such as wakizashi, jo, tanto, and naginata. Our training emphasizes concepts of awareness, blending with and deceiving opponents, and utilizing subtle movements based on the laws of physics to defeat attackers.

In addition to sword training, we also offer instruction in Aiki-jujutsu unarmed martial arts, applying the same principles of strategy learned through the sword to hand-to-hand combat. Our curriculum covers a wide range of bugei (Japanese martial arts) and strategies (heiho, hyoho) that were traditionally used by the samurai, with practical skills that are still relevant in modern times.

No matter your experience level or background in martial arts, we welcome you to observe or participate in our classes. Our schedule includes Weapons and Aiki-jujutsu classes on Fridays from 7:15PM to 8:45PM, and an Open Mat session followed by Weapons and Aiki-jujutsu classes on Sundays from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.
