"Coach Chris works so well with my 4 year old! Each class he is excited to work something new and I can see him getting better with his concentration and listening skills!"

"We had a drastically different experience from many of these other reviews. Our experience started out positively. So much so we purchased classes for an entire year. After we made that decisions a lot happened. The schedule changed 5 times in a couple months which was frustrating but I understand changes need to be made but the lack of communication and clarity was the more problematic piece for me. Aside from the schedule changes, the curriculum was changed then changed back then changed again. Again, I can navigate change and support that, but it's how it was communicated. I even asked a question after a class about stripes and I got yelled at for it, which I got an apology after sharing feedback. In our home we are navigating multiple kids busy schedules and do our best to prioritize them. There were many classes where Coach Chris spent time complaining about parents to the kids and spent class time talking at the kids about topics not related to martial arts instead of teaching them. It was really hard for me to watch and learn about Coach Chris using the "R word" when referring to the parents of his clients, again a slip up, fine but he intentionally chose that language and used it multiple times justifying it by saying he was brought up in the 70s. This is just not language we would use in our home or allow our children to use. The last class our child attended Coach Chris told the kids "they were lazy, acting like their dogs just died, were boring to teach and felt like a waste of his time..." Leadership, accountability, and role models are important to us and we were not finding those qualities at EMA but thankful to have at a new Dojang. The last thing I'd like to share. I had reached out for a refund due to all the changes and feeling like we were no longer getting the service we paid for. Chris had ChatGBT email me back approving the refund and when I followed up, I was told he would mail it to me because he needed to get finances in order. He then removed my email so we could no longer use the app or access our child's information and stopped responding to emails. We never received a refund or anything other communication from Chris/EMA. Our entire experience has been disheartening, unprofessional, and confusing. Happy we have moved on, we learned a lot from this experience, especially since this was our first time navigating any kind of martial arts school. Adding an addition here: Just a for your information, I left a similar review on the EMA FB page and then got blocked from the page and review was deleted. Now I am understanding why there are only 5 start reviews listed there."

"My son Steven has grown so much in the short time he's been there, much more focus, he loves Coach Chris, and I truly can see how much he enjoys going to classes! Thank you Coach."

"My experience with EMA isn’t the same as other reviews. Clean place with great kids. Other families make you feel welcomed. Coach Chris obviously does a great job for others but not for me. He made me and my child not feel welcome. He complained about other parents almost consistently when talking with him. His frustration is very evident and I do not feel he knows how to handle younger children. He never made a bond with my child or got to know them or the parents. I think martial arts is a great approach for my child and is doing fantastic at another location because I won’t go through those doors where I feel we aren’t welcome."

"Extreme Martial Arts has been such a confidence booster for our grandson. He absolutely loves attending every class. Coach Chris is a great instructor and if there is anything that occurs during a class that is a concern he is very receptive to listening to family concerns and addressing them. Our grandson did a whole season of T Ball and put his all into it but never enjoyed it like he does his classes with Coach Chris. He learns so much at every class, he doesn’t just learn Taekwondo but also learns respect, confidence, to be a better listener, Korean Terms, and learns how to work towards a goal, like a belt promotion.Thank you Coach Chris for all you do."
