"Stayed here for 2 years as an elder international student attending freshman year. Landlord and management was really such a male Karen. Would suggest all international students reading this to avoid this place like the plague."
"I lived here for 2.5 years from 2009 to 2011, and I experienced first-hand how a resident of this country has fewer rights living on campus than in prison. The person in charge, whose name I have thankfully forgotten, but who can be recognised by her girth, treated me more unfairly than any landlord I have ever dealt with, possibly because she expected every female, especially an Asian female who’s a foreigner, to be mealy-mouthed even though she herself is just as assertive as I am. Because she wanted to exercise her right to the outspoken, but did not want anyone else to have any opinions if they did not agree with hers, she took a personal dislike to me. One of my flatmates, whose mother happened to know this manager, complained that while we were living together, I had asked her a question in a tone which she did not like. This manager not only admitted to conflict of interest when she informed me of this complaint (“I personally know her mother”, she flagrantly said), but she threatened to make me pay the rent for the entire flat simply because my flatmate did not want to live with me. And this is only one of many instances of her favouritism when it comes to people she likes. The very fact that I remember enough to write this review, SEVEN YEARS after I moved out, should tell you something about the way things are handled by the manager at Creekside. Thanks to this manager, I learned my very first valuable lesson about liberals within 6 months of moving to the U.S.: they are all lip service. They’ll tell you they are pro-immigration, especially when it comes to those from the Third World; and that they support the right of women to have a strong personality; and that they want more ethnic minorities to have a presence on campus. But the minute they encounter an ACTUAL such person, not some imaginary creature they’ve made up in their infertile minds, they hate her guts, and can’t wait to demean her and humiliate her and make her feel as ostracised as possible. So thank you for teaching me the SINGLE most useful piece of information about liberals, Creekside: hypocrisy rules the day, and always has, and always will. It is a lesson I have not forgotten."
"Plain and simple: Do not move here. You will be screwed. I've been living here for almost a year now, and I can easily say this is an awful place to live. My husband and I were looking for a place that accepted pets pretty urgently and found these apartments. We thought they looked nice, and gave them a call. Everything sounded great, and we moved in around March 2017. Everything was great! The landlord/manager Jeff came in and did some repairs on some things that needed them, such as a clogged drain, and a closet door that was not put up. These fixes were done around May 2017. Awesome, right? He kept his half of the lease saying that he would help fix things that needed fixing around the place. Cool. Then comes around June/July. We asked him for a fridge guard because one of the ledges on the fridge door didn't have a guard, so it was useless. He told us he'd get "right on it". A month or two later, nothing happened. We asked him again, and he said he was "getting the part". It's now March of 2018 and we still don't have that guard. Now here's when things got even worse. Outside of the apartments in the hallway there are smoke detectors on the ceiling. One night that smoke detector was beeping from low battery every minute or so. We texted Jeff asking if he could replace the batteries because it was beeping more frequently, and in the morning around 5am. No response. We asked the other handyman about it, and nothing was done. One last time we texted Jeff, and he said nothing. So we took the detector and replaced the batteries FOR him, which is NOT our responsibility. We told him we did it for him, and he said something along the lines of; "Thanks, but we have a smoke detector check in about two months, but thanks anyways." That alone is illegal, as smoke detectors should be of great priority. We maintain the one in our apartment. To top things off the smoke detectors love to go off every once in a while a couple times a day for a few days. Nice. Now comes the time when we have to move out. We told him that we were not renewing our lease, and he told us that we were late on our 60 days notice, so we had to pay for April at least. Which is fine, that was our fault for not reading the lease well enough before hand. So now we are paying for April 2018, whatever. We texted him about leaving when April ends, and we get no response back. We E-mailed, and nothing. Called. Nothing. Heard nothing back from this 'man' for almost a month. This guy is supposed to be 'working' in office every weekday, but you will NEVER see this guy other than the day you get interviewed. We wanted to make sure he got the notice because we were not being screwed into leasing for ANOTHER month. So we typed up a note telling him that we were leaving after April, and to let us know of anything else we needed to know for that month. To insure that he got it, we put it in his mailbox where we put our checks in each month, and one on his office door. After a couple days we finally heard back from him! Great news, right? No. He texted us saying; " Why did you put this note on my door, we have a mailbox.. " We responded telling him it was to make sure he received it. No response. STILL no response as I am writing this. We are in the dark. We need the paint that is provided by him to cover any pin holes from hanging up picture frames. We asked him for it, and again, no response. We're leaving this unbearable place. It smells of weed in the halls (which we told him about and he put an air freshener in the hall... wow) , and the doors are all broken with spiders infesting the inside of the doors/hallways. All doors are extremely thin and hollow, so any noise that happens, I'm sure the entire complex can hear. One more thing: If you live on the bottom floor, get ready to hear slamming and hammering in the basement all day. And don't forget the extremely squeaky ceiling when someone walks above you. Please don't give this man your money. Find a better place... Look into landlord/apartments reviews before moving in."
"Most are two bedroom two bathroom apartments. Student housing. It's generally alright - ample parking, community dumpster, and most residents are the quiet type. Far too expensive for what's offered, however. If you're a prospective student, I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for living."
"Rented a apartment here worst experience of my life, landlord was terrible cheats everyone out of the deposit"
