Garden Gate Health Care Facility

"I visit my friend everyday for the past month only only to see the neglect towards patients by certain aides that are hired to assist people that are elderly or disabled. Whenever my friend needs help, she will press the call button only to get yelled at by certain aides. With that kind of attitude, they shouldn't be working there. "What do you want now"? "Don't bother us now". We're busy. Yeah, on their cell phones at the nursing station on personal business. I have no complaints about the rehab people, nurses or social workers, just a select few. My friend spends most of her day in distress and crying about how she is treated. Only 1 shower a week and for the aides that are assigned, it is a quick washdown. The food is always cold and she might get a peanut butter sandwich and cottage cheese for lunch with watered down juice. I regret sending her there for rehab. Not the greatest place to be. I hope something is done to replace some of these aides with more compassionate people."

"The some of the nurses/aides taking care of my dad are disrespectful and ignorant, but not all of them. Sometimes it takes over an hour for somebody to answer his call button if he needs something/help, and calling the desk of the unit that he is in is pointless since nobody answers. I understand there are other patients, but chatting in the hall to other workers about other patients within ear-shot of another patient (HIPPA violation) and ignoring patients needs is just disgusting behavior. To top things off, he caught COVID due to cross-contamination from nurses. If I knew things were going to be this bad, I wouldn’t have let him come here for rehab. Absolutely disgusted!"

"You'd be better off wheeling your loved one into an open field somewhere and leaving them. Staff ignores patients calls who need to use the bathroom, 4 people sitting around a desk on their cell phones can't answer a simple question of where a patient is, just sit there with a glazed look on all their faces, there's no therapy on weekends (point of it is for it to be a constant thing), staff has attitude about everything and the smell is absolutely horrible. Judging by the other comments here all of this is pretty standard at this place"

"Please do not send anyone you love here. The staff is unresponsive, neglectful and abusive. They completely disregard call bells while they sit at the nurses' station on their phones. The food is inedible and served ice cold. Our family visited daily and witnessed this first hand. It is terrible. The only positive thing I can say is the physical and occupational therapists truly care. They are patient and kind. Otherwise, any other choice you have would be better than this. Please don't let their canned response to these reviews give you the illusion that they care. The only thing they care about is billing your insurance company."

"Complete neglect here. It is heartbreaking and cruel. I know someone CURRENTLY there with terrible bed sores and constant UTI's (because the catheter is never cared for properly). A lot of the staff is rude and outright yell at patients. The place is drab and dreary and the bottom of the barrel. It's a fate worse than death. If you love your loved one DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. Yes I see your response and I will call tomorrow. I just fear retaliation on my loved one."
