"I was going to Dr Malik office for pain management after 3 back surgeries. Dr Malik determined there was nothing more he could do for me, so told me he was referring me to Dr Roger in Buffalo. I waited 2 weeks and called his office to see if I had been accepted as a patient for the new Dr. As usual, the nurses do not answer calls nor do the return calls. I waited another week, called again. Same results. I waited another week, no call back. So I called Dr Rogers office myself and found out I was not accepted as I have Medicare. He referred me to another Dr. After a week that drs office called me back and said he wouldn't accept me as last surgery wasn't a year old. I made an appt with my PCP to get his opinion on what I should do. Finally after 6-1/2 wks Dr Maliks office called me back and told me I wasn't accepted as a patient of Dr Roger because of Medicare. I told them I had obtained that info myself, and on another referral. All of a sudden the nurses were very attentive. Asked me what I wanted and I asked to either make another referral in Rochester this time, or send me to the Cleveland Clinic. They called back in a little while referring me to a Dr in Rochester. When I came in to see Dr Malik about some meds he put me on, the nurse who was checking me in was appalled by the treatment I had received and asked me to talk to her supervisor. I agreed. However, a different nurse came in instead of the supervisor, and tried to tell me they always answer calls as soon as they get a message. This is far from the truth because I have discussed this with Dr Malik and the nurses on prior appts. Then they try to say their phone system doesn't work right. She left telling me the Dr would be right in. Hower, I then heard him going in a room next to mine. That room was empty when I came in and this person was placed in the room after I came in. I decided that because Dr Malik couldn't help me anymore, I was going to leave. I walk out of the exam room and all the nurses were standing in a group talking. They looked shocked to see me come out. I told them I did not appreciate someone being put in front of me, and I was leaving. My advice to them was to do their jobs instead of standing around making up lies. I will not be back to any doctor in this group!"
