"Some great staff, but the hospital doesn't follow the rules... from what I've seen. I didn't see any doctors before I was admitted and nobody gave me the hospital bill of rights. When i was in the ward. I made several requests of the patients bill of rights and got no response in writing as was requested several times.."

"I wish we could respond to other people's reviews or leave zero stars. This hospital is terrible. My family member was in this place back in Feb 2023. There was no house keeping done well she was there until compliants were made. Even after that house keeping was only done one day for over a week stay in the hospital. She was left to care for herself. Call lights not answered. Big man Ron Higley himself left her without taking care of her when she needed help. I say big man cause at that time he was supposedly in charge of the 3rd and 4th floor. He did come back and say sorry a day later for leaving her that way and owned that he should have just taken the initiative and cared for her. In patient rooms and visitor bathrooms, there was not even soap or paper towels available to wash your hands with. Hand washing is the number one preventative measure to stop the spread of germs and there is no excuse for supplies like that not being available in a hospital. Patients continue to be mistreated and not properly taken care of at Olean General Hospital. Olean General Hospital is a mess and after reading recent reviews seems nothing has changed especially on the 3rd floor. There really is NO point in complaining to the hospital as it's obvious things continue to go down hill instead start making complaints and reports to New York State Department of Health so they can investigate Olean General Hospital themselves."

"This place is ridicules I went in with cardiac issues and was told to sit in the waiting room. I had EKG, Chest x-Rays, and Covid test, was also asked numerous times if I was a drug abuser. I sat in the waiting room for 9 hours and was never seen by a doctor. They never came out to let me know the results of any of my tests. They only Did 1 set of vitals so I ended up telling them I was going home and they just told me ok. This place really needs to be investigated for malpractice. Will never go back again."

"DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. My mother passed away in this hospital a few weeks ago and my dad was admitted shortly after for something unrelated. He was in the emergency room and had to call his nurse who was literally sitting at the nurses desk stuffing his face with cake and did not respond to my dad until his second call 20 minutes later. After being admitted and taken to the third-floor, he was still treated like garbage by this whole staff. The nurses didn’t care and did not respond multiple times after they’ve given my dad laxatives. The bathroom was full of feces all over the walls and toilet. The cleaners had to come multiple times because they were not doing their job and actually cleaning the rooms. Please see photos for proof. I tried to call and make a complaint to the hospital and they never got back to me. This hospital is trash. If you love who you are taking to that hospital, go somewhere else it will be worth the drive and worth your sanity because you won’t have to worry about your loved one being taken care of especially in the evening. They had thought my dad had a stroke because of the way that he was acting, but it turned out to be something different. He was loopy and not cognizant. They were not keeping an eye him, and one of the nurses screamed at him and told him that he could not be next to him all night even though he was asking my dad was asking for help to go to the bathroom- my sister was on the phone with him at this time. The next day when my sister came in my dad didn’t know what the day was. He didn’t know who the president was and still he was treated like garbage by the nurses in the staff. Both of my dad‘s roommate confirmed that he made multiple calls during the nights to receive help and they never came. She had to clean out feces from underneath his nails on his hands, because the nurses weren’t doing their jobs. My dad called for the nurse several times last night, because he was having issues with holding his bowel movements and ended up crapping all over the room. My sister walked in this morning and found that it had not been cleaned. He had feces on his feet, on the chair next to him, and all over the room and was a biohazard. The nurses did not help him bathe even those he is supposed to have at least one person helping him out of his bed every time. This hospital does not care about the people that they are “treating” they only care about the money they make off of them and stuff there fat faces with cake. DISGUSTING."

"I hope someone sues this place for medical malpractice. When lancing a cyst, the procedure should not be so painful the patient is screaming at you to stop. If a patient is screaming at you to stop, you should stop, not continue to cause them pain and ignore their screams! Ignoring and dismissing women's pain is a real issue in the medical community, if this happened anywhere else - it would be considered torture. Do better!"
