Reviews
"I am currently a 7th grader and I LOVE this school. I don't understand why people write negative reviews about it. All the teachers are awesome, and there is never a lot of homework (at least for me). I am in the Scientific Research academy and I really like it. People say Arts and Humanities is the best and that the rest of the academies are boring but that is wrong. In my opinion, Scientific is awesome and really fun as well. The education is very good and all the students are smart and nice. But the best part is that there is usually no homework on breaks. Over all, I am really satisfied with this school and I recommend it to everyone who gets accepted here :)"
"This school offers a wide range of classes in each of the three academies. The teachers know what they're doing and strive to make their students succeed throughout the school year. The students are really intelligent (don't underestimate them), which also leads to a competitive aura in the air, but they all cooperate. Lunch is pretty bad to be honest, but our school is very clean. In fact, we have a recycling club after school! Overall, I think this school is perfect if you are willing to learn as much as you possibly can with staff and other pupils. Fun ensures in each academy. :)"
"Let me go through the basics: Teachers: Most of them are really good, fun, entertaining, and awesome at their job. But there might be 1 or 2 teachers who may not have you on their good side and may make your year a bit harsh. Students: Heck, they're smart and awesome! No complaints there! Environment: Really good, apart from 1 cockroach named Alan =d The school is decent and clean, however the gym is way too small and some classes are too crowded (30+ kids per class in every class) Overall, a great school! I definitely recommend going to Christa McAuliffe!"
"I am currently an 8th grader, completing my year at one of Brooklyn's best middle schools, if not the best, and I can honestly say that it was a fantastic experience. Here at a I.S.187, the learning environment is very safe and is attended to with responsibility. The work is nothing short of challenging and difficult, but seeing that our school has gifted and talented students, the workload should not be overly hard for anyone. The teachers are very educated and express a passion for their subject visible to students at all times. Many of the teachers care about each and every student equally and offer help to any student who is having trouble with a task given in school or any other problem. Although there may be a lot of homework at times, the key to not feeling pressured or stressed is managing your time wisely. The kids in this school are very intelligent and are overall, very good students. There is no gang activity or any bad habits (smoking, drugs, alcohol, bullying) at this school and it is ensured that students are safe here. If you are a student reading this, I can ensure you, these will be 3 interesting and memory-filled years where you will make many friends! If this is a parent reading, your child will do great in this school and excel as long as they work hard to maintain their grades. It's a really amazing school, and definitely challenging but fun! :)"
