"I’d give the school a 0 star rating if I could as a former student. The school is a mess, they don’t have proper staffing, and the only good educator they truly have is Ms Hendi & (maybe) SOME day time teachers. Ms Wallace is extremely rude. Rolls her eyes at students, treats them as if she’s never been in the same position as a student but then sits in her room all day. They have another teacher, who I believe needs help. (Won’t mention names) and everybody knows exactly who I’m talking about. She clearly has a drug issue, and the school does nothing about her, her safety, the clients safety, or students. I truly hope she gets the help she deserves. Also, don’t come to this school if you get covid in New York! Even though it’s state regulated, they will kick you out of the program within hours before your next class and then call you to tell you you’re kicked - no warning. So if you’re sick with covid, make sure you come and spread your germs to the rest of the people in class who have families and other people to worry about :) Don’t let the good rating of this school fool you. On the first day of classes, they sit there and tell you to take a minute to leave a 5 star rating without even actually knowing what the school is like. As far as I’m concerned, they’re unorganized by all get-out. The school itself is extremely ghetto, girls are catty, but I am lucky to have met the ladies I did have a good time with while being here. I wish them the best of luck with their endeavors."

"I am a former student that decided to stop going to empire due to the non-stop issues, lack of education and unprofessionalism. This is the most unorganized organization I ever came across in my adult life. Most of the reviews are posted by teachers or staff asking the students to post so of course they are good reviews. My experience at empire was awful from my 1st day until my last day. Only good part of empire was the friends I made. This school is filled with drama. In my experience as a whole the teacher are not good at all. Well at empire I had a teacher almost fall in my book due to drugs and had to be removed from building. Another teacher had no idea what they were doing at all whole classroom complained… so they finally removed him. Educator 3, knew her information but struggled with being present in the class to teach it. After leaving the classroom setting you go to salon floor… the educator (number 4) on floor would roll her eyes at me for no reason. Tell me to do things that I had already completed as some of the other student continued to not complete their work or hang out in her office all day. I would ask for help and get no help. The teacher was not the same skin color as I was. I was not the only student that had issues with this and the director admitted this to me after the other director walked out with no notice. The former director couldn’t deal with this school anymore. There are 5 educators in this building… I briefly got to experience Ms.Henderson to make up hours she seemed to be the only one that had it together! Joe in admissions is great as well. He helped me survive the 600 hours I made it through a couple times. Now I look back wish I left my first day! I filed a grievance no one had ever got back to me. The school waited to drop me after 21 weeks (I left at 20) so I now have to pay them in full. I’m not one to write reviews.. and I feel bad to even say anything bad about the educators but some one needs to hold them accountable!!! I now owe money for something I did not receive an education. It so bad there I would never return. Empire should not be an accredited school. Do not go here! Run!"

"i tried attending this program but unfortunately financial aid sucks. 1 of the financial councilors insinuated on me getting pregnant and having a child so i could have a dependent in order to attend. disgusting. the teachers are very nice and knowledgeable however."

"I met with Joe in admissions, & from the moment I walked through the doors I felt welcome. Joe made me very comfortable & explained everything very thoroughly to me about what to expect & what is expected of me. Overall, my experience so far has been exciting & smooth. If you're thinking of joining the family, you will be welcomed with open arms!"
