"This was my first apartment 5 almost 6 years ago and I’m still here. It’s a great place especially for starters like myself very peaceful great area the staff is wonderful all in all a beautiful place to live especially if you like your peace I couldn’t have picked a better complex"
"I visited Oaks at Northgate in hopes of finding an apartment this fall. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any. The staff was great, and the Oaks at Northgate family made me feel so welcomed. I added myself to the waitlist and hope to live there if they have availability next year. Franzella was awesome and very knowledgeable about the area and what it had to offer. She also the explained the waitlist process to me and offered other apartments in the area."
"they should have better office personnel, the two spanish ladies are very unprofessional to who they want to service and when to have tasks completed. They play around a lot and will have you waiting for too long just to assist you."
"Don’t live there, the apartments are infest of cockroaches, they charge fees for a pest service which you don't get at least you call to the office every week so they “add” to the list The playground area is full of garbage and broken glasses, kids Can be hurt ; people get into the truck, breaking the windows; if the tenants don’t complain about anything they don’t do anything. At the night isn’t safe to walk between buildings there is not lights. Go somewhere else."
"They keep the area near the office maintained but that's it. The rails are all rusted and need to be repainted. The balconies need to be pressure washed and repainted. There's always trash flying about from over-filled dumpsters. They just fixed one side of the mailboxes we use because 70% of them didn't have doors. There are still some without doors but I guess they're gonna wait until those tenants complain. During the summer the bushes got trimmed 1 time. We couldn't even walk on the sidewalk because they were so overgrown. They give you two parking spaces per apartment but people just park wherever they want. Don't try to get management involved. They say they'll handle it but nothing gets done. The parking lots and streets within the complex are old and filled with HUGE potholes. Broken glass everywhere that they won't clean up. They used to have a drop box for rent but they got rid of it without sending out and official notice. When we tried getting the online payments set up they kept giving us the runaround. We finally have it set up after 8 months of living here. They started charging people for water after our lease had already started. They said they wouldn't charge current tenants for water until after their leases were renewed. But of course we started receiving a water bill. They make you pay a nonrefundable pet fee of $275 and add $10 per month to your rent per pet but almost NOBODY pays that. There are cats and dogs roaming the neighborhood without collars. The inside of the apartments aren't bad. There are some things that we asked to get fixed since we first moved in that haven't been fixed. It's a good thing we filled out a walk-through AND took pictures. They've repainted the insides so many times that the painted has started cracking and falling off in certain spots in the apt if you lean against the wall. A couple of our closet doors don't close because there's too much caked on paint. The windows in most of the apartments probably haven't been upgraded since the place was built. So be prepared for extremely high power bills in the summer and high gas bills in the winter. Our electric averaged $200 and that was because of the AC/heat. The cops have been called dozens of time since we moved here. We hear gunshots on a weekly basis. I've seen drug deals go down and have been approached by people trying to sell me drugs. Don't try to tell management about any of this because nothing will get done. They hire these shady people and allow them to be "maintenance workers". They're supposed to give 24 hours notice to do any work in your apartment but don't be surprised if someone just shows up or if you come home and find them there. When we tried to give our 30 days notice before the end of our lease the woman in the office tried to tell us that their policy is 60 days notice and because of that we needed to pay an extra months rent. I reminded them that it's 60 days notice to break a lease but only 30 days if we are not renewing. We went back and forth for a while before I finally told her to show me where it said 60 days in my lease. Of course I was right. She made the excuse that everyone's lease is different. If that's true then why argue with me instead of trying to confirm? I can only imagine the problems they would've given me had I signed the paper that said 60 days. A month before I moved I had fallen down the stairs because the metal railing was so rusted that it was no longer attached to anything. I fell on a Saturday morning. No one even came to tape of the stairs until the following Monday morning. 24hr maintenance my a$$! We also had squirrels living in the ceiling. The manager said she'd "call the wildlife guy" but squirrels were still actively scratching at the ceiling the day we moved. I've attached pics of the rail when I fell and when they came to tape it off the next Monday. I also attached a pic of the hole that the squirrels enter and exit the roof in my building. Hopefully they don't delete them again."
