"Went in on Super Bowl Sunday looking for something to eat and watch the game. My boyfriend and I met Joe the owner who was super welcoming and friendly. We got baby back ribs, chili Mac n cheese & corn bread. Portions were nice and food was amazing!! The food was so warm and fresh it was noticeable how much love was poured into it. Definitely recommend and we will be back."

"This is the BEST BBQ on the island, easy. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the owner Joe and the pitmaster Brian, who were both super friendly. Joe gave us samples to try and the portions given are huge! I got the smoked chicken, baked beans, and the chili mac. I love how everything is made fresh every single day as well as how passionate Joe and Brian are about their food. I will definitely be back and ordering from here a bunch. it’s 100000/10 and can not recommend it enough."

"We had a big party come in towards closing and Joe the owner took such amazing care of us. His energy is top notch and he took extra care in plating our spread and preparing the tables for us! We had both the st louis and baby back style ribs and they were perfect, especially with the sauce on the side. We also got the mac-n-cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, and corn bread on the side. They were all delicious and paired perfectly with the ribs! We will definitely be back. Thank you Joe!"

"This is the place to be to get barbecue. Joe was super friendly. Welcomed me and my friend in and offered us some side samples. Huge portions, which is great to see and surprisingly affordable. St Louis ribs were my favorite. Cornbread and sides tasted great as well. Definitely will be back!"

"Prior to discovering Bitterman’s BBQ, my go-to barbecue spots were Smokey Bones and Famous Dave’s, but both establishments are a 20-30 minute drive from my part of Suffolk. While scouring Google Maps for local BBQ and/or soul food options I stumbled across Bitterman’s. I checked the most recent reviews and all were favorable so I decided to see for myself. Upon entering I was immediately greeted by Joe, who then reintroduced me to Brian (sp). From what I understood, they run Bitterman’s and handle everything. Joe proudly offered me samples of the meats and chili mac while I decided what to order. I wanted to take home a little bit of everything, so Joe created a three-meat sampler for me so I could try multiple meats. I ended up with two samplers and a side of corn bread. All of the meats were juicy and flavorful. My favorites were the baby back ribs and pulled pork. I followed Joe’s instructions on warming up the cornbread and it was delicious. It’s not your typical cornbread, it’s definitely on the sweeter side and could easily double as a light dessert. Their homemade barbecue sauce is good, but you should definitely test it before you drizzle it on your food because it can be an acquired taste. My only regret was not getting more than a single serving of the baked beans, which were delicious. Joe and Brian will be receiving more of my business."
