"The food is excellent, but most of why I go there is Yuko (owner). She's like everyone's grandmother. She knows most of the people who visit by face, if not also by name. I haven't used a menu in years - I just tell her what I want. She even took my son next door and bought him gummy snacks! I don't even live close anymore, but when I want Japanese food I make the trip from Queens to see Yuko."

"Family owned restaurant for over 20+ years. Yuko is the owner and server. Her husband and son are the chefs. The whole family is lovely, but Yuko is just the best! Mari is staff that helps as a server. Sushi is excellent and the teriyaki (beef, chicken, and salmon) dishes are delicious! I highly recommend this quaint and local business."

"Easily an overlooked restaurant in Westbury. Perhaps the definition of a family business, they treat people so well and welcome guests with open arms. The menu is simple, but the quality is excellent. It’s a shame they don’t get more business, really should be a hot spot for any sushi lover."

"There was a fantastic sushi joint across the street & thinking this may have been the same transplanted, I stopped in for lunch while on business. While definitely not the same place, Shogi is without a doubt one of the best restaurants on LI, due to the overwhelming personality of the proprietors. Finding many new sushi joints opened up by Chinese (just ask them how to say "hello" in Japanese, they will fail) this is a true Japanese mom & pop operation that will make you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. Love Shogi, Yukon is the best. Won't be around much longer so get there while you still can."

"I've been coming here for over 20 years. Small location but big hearts and great food. You will feel like family here. The ginger dressing is hands down the best I've ever had and I will keep coming back for more. One of their best dishes Chicken Negima is hands down one of the best dishes.
