UMD Urgent Care - LIC

"This is a neglectful clinic that should be shut down by the city. Never in my life have I seen such poor care administered from an incompetent staff and the worst Doctor. Wasn't able to catch his name but he was wearing sweats, no lab coat, was incredibly dismissive of my husband's symptoms. My husband came in with heart related symptoms and they refused to give him aspirin immediately which is ridiculous. The clinic tried to run an EKG and couldn't get the electrodes to stick down or even get the computer to work to do a read. The staff complained about their antiquated technology infront of us. Luckily this was all precautionary but if this was truly a heart attack or emergency this entire staff would be responsible for a potential death. They are absolutely unprofessional, shocking any of these individuals were even granted medical degrees. The only solution the doctor offered was to refund our co-pay like we were paying customers shopping for a sweater not panicked individuals dealing with an emergency. Do not go to the clinic and especially do not get seen by the Asian doctor. I wish I had his name but this is a terrible facility! We left immediately to head to the NYU ER which was much better. Would give them zero stars but Google makes you give one to post. The staff and clinic working tonight should be ashamed and question why they even entered the medical field in the first place."

"usually have an average experience when I go here but when I went this past weekend for a terrible flu and saw Dr. Brandon Monk. He was very cold, short, and so dismissive. Did not give any answers to questions I asked, did not explain why he’s prescribing medications and the whole experience with him was so weird and cold. I’ve never experienced such a detached doctor. He came off as he was miserable just being there at work doing his job but just his demeanor felt judgmental and detached. I know working at an urgent care might not be easy but showing some type of care for your patient as a doctor should be part of the basics of how you show up as a doctor"

"I went there yesterday for UTI symptoms. It was a Friday and I could not get an appointment with my primary care, and didn’t want to suffer through the weekend. The visit was smooth, a short wait in their spotless exam room decorated with plants which was nice. The doctor diagnosed the problem and prescribed antibiotics which are already helping. I did not catch his name, but he was very pleasant and professional."

"I would not recommend coming to this urgent care facility for anything other than COVID testing. For any visit requiring a discussion with a doctor, you will be severely disappointed. I went to UMD for a PCR COVID test several weeks ago and it was fine. Only waited about 15 minutes, was quickly given the test, and was out the door with results arriving within 2 days. However, I recently went back for a non-COVID related issue and had to wait to see a doctor to discuss. After waiting 30 minutes, I was shown into an exam room and explained the reason for my visit to the nurse. After the nurse left, I waited an additional 15-20 minutes until the doctor finally arrived. The doctor (I didn't even catch his name) quickly gave me his best guess for treatment and, instead of listening to any of my questions, quickly cut off any attempt for a discussion by saying that he "doesn't have time to speculate and has to see 30 more patients but would otherwise be happy to discuss." He even recommended that I come back on a weekday during lunch when it would be slower! I have never been treated in such a disrespectful manner by a doctor - I will save this review from the obscenities that immediately come to mind. Then, as I sat there completely stunned by his lack of professionalism, the doctor finished by saying, while literally looking at his watch, that he only had 30 more seconds for me and was stepping out of the exam room. I couldn't believe my ears. After leaving UMD and Dr. Expletive-Deleted, I went to CityMD by Queensboro Plaza for a second opinion and had a MUCH better experience - see my review there if you're looking for an urgent care facility in Long Island City. I will never be returning to UMD and would NOT recommend anyone to go there for urgent care needs."

"Only been to UMD urgent care in Long Island City for Covid testing and probably did like 7-8 tests. Staff is super friendly especially comparing to other testing places that it wasn’t the case. I usually get the results very quick (including pcr). Line/ queue is never bad / long"
