"This store only offers self-checkout, which is annoying given the prices here. And, unlike other stores that charge $0.05 for a bag, they make you buy a bag that is huge and costs like $3. Management - most people throw those bags away immediately. What a scam. I rarely come here as a result. The sushi is decent though. Otherwise, this is a grocery store that sells everything at marked-up 7 Eleven level prices."

"Big store on 2 levels with lots of wholefoods, organic, kosher. Jave affordable tea, coffee and very tasty takeaway meal options from 3.99. Also, plugs to charge in case you film a lot (like me) and a restroom downstairs. I will be back. Also had a food tasting for a new type of Jewish, LGBTIQ-owned lemonade brand."

"- 4/10/2023, Tues: Sagami (Savoura) brand Organic Vine Tomtaoes - 2.99/lb: Today I found another organic tomato brand Sagami which is the same brand as Savoura (Sagami inc. owns Savoura) from Quebec, Canada. The Sagami here are vine tomatoes while Savoura brand mentioned before are beefsteak (both red tomatoes), that are among my favorite retail red tomatoes. The Sagami vine were a good deal at 2.99/lb, lower than I've seen at other stores such as whole foods. I believe the Savoura organic beefsteaks are still be 4.99/lb. Sagami and Savoura tomatoes also have compostable labels and are organic and pesticide free, grown in greenhouses. Soon in May local tomatoes will be coming in at the NYC Greenmarkets. 2/21/23, Wed: Gourmet Garage on Hudson St just south of Abingdoon Square, - Savoura Organic Beefsteak Tomatoes - 4.99/lb - Gourmet Garage now has the Savoura organic red beef steak slicing tomatoes, from Quebec Canada with compostable labels, that on Savoura's site are listed as pesticide free from greenhouses. You can find these at whole foods and 4th st coop, at times, but not always. I pictured them below, and they are among my favorite tomatoes at retail, though I prefer Shushan greenhouse tomatoes from NY at the union square greenmarket, but Shushan was out today. Organic Leafy Green Vegetables: - The dark leafy greens such as Kale are downstairs on your left and are all organic though not as local as the union square greenmarket, though certainly more convenient if in the west village. - Upstairs: They also have many varieties of winter squash from delicata to butternut to red kuri from local organic Lancaster farms in PA, which was impressive. Also, decent selections of extra virgin olive oil. - 1/22/2023: Bulk Grains and Nuts: - the bulk section on the main floor near the front of the store to the far right upon entering near the coffee features bins of organic peanuts and other nuts (cashews, walnuts, etc) and seeds (sunflower, pumpkin) and chocolate covered almonds, cherries, peanuts, etc) The organic peanuts are listed as roasted in organic sunflower oil, but not clear if the peanuts are organic themselves, but overall listed as product of usa and certified by nofa). You can weigh them in the store paper/plastic coffee/bulk bags or your own paper bag on the scale to the right of the bins, enter the code from the bin, and print the receipt which will have a bar code, and then check out at the regular self-checkout at the front of the store and scan the bar code from the bulk receipt and pay as usual. The scale could use a tare in the case you wanted to buy the bulk items in your own container, but that is not available. 4th st coop in the east side by 4th st & 2nd ave and whole foods are other stores with bulk bins to look into. I purchased the following and this is the only store I have seen in the area that allows you to buy from bulk bins. The peanuts are from the USA and a reasonable price. - 4/17/23: pictures of the scale to the right of for bulk items, which allows you to tare a container or bag when weighing bulk items, and you can print the receipt to scan and pay at main register. Contains: peanuts, Product of USA, Certified Organic by NOFA-NY 2/21/23, Wed: - 12/8/22: Baked Goods: I believe the scones, croissants, and danishes in are made in-house or by a partner store, but were from the wholesale division of Balthazar Bakery earlier in 2022. The Gourmet Garage on w 66th st has breads and baked goods from the NYC Orwasher Bakery founded 1916 down the street."

"Way better than the D'argostino but still not a good supermarket everything is rather pricey and also the selection is very limited. The only plus they actually have is the really friendly staff, as well as their sushi Wednesday. Apart from that I really only go there because there is no alternative in the West Village."
