"Highly do not recommend starting plans here at Banfield, and specifically don’t recommend the nanuet location. I have 2 cats on wellness plans and have had issues from the very beginning. My cats will be waiting to be picked up for hours because associates don’t call the owners on time.. (this has happened almost each and everytime I’ve brought my cats). I can only imagine how long they’ve gone without food, water, bathroom breaks, and being stuck in a carrier for hours. Both of my cats have gotten fixed through Banfield (before i knew how bad this company actually was) and after they were done, their area of incision was poorly maintained and treated. Only gave me pain medication for one day after the surgery and after nearly opening up my girl cat completely and sewing her shut (this is not how they normally fix female cats so seeing this was super disappointing). They do not care about the wellness of your pets, i brought my cat in over a week ago because of an odd heaving/cough he developed and they brought me into a treatment room that was extremely dirty. They decided to take him to the back for checkups and they refused to see him because they said he was aggressive and they prescribed him with a medication after no testing and no diagnosis. Each and everytime i have picked up both of my cats, they’ve acted like complete different cats. They isolate themselves, they’re aggressive, they hiss and growl and they’re both not normally like this. The type of “agreements” they have for their plans are scam likely, when you try to cancel they mention you must pay the balance of the plan in full or the services you’ve gotten discounted over the year. I am extremely disappointed that these employees and this company claim to “care” about the well-being of your pets but treats them in this manner. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THESE SERVICES IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR PETS HEALTH AND WELL BEING."

"Most of the people there are very nice. Their are a couple that have horrible attitudes and god forbid you ask them a question. For the most part they have been great with my dog but you can never get someone to pick up the phone. I've had to drive there, which is 15 minutes from my house, just to make an appointment. I called to try to get an ETA for my dog, I had to press 0 more than 10 times before someone actually answered. You have to keep pressing 0 to have it keep ringing their phone. So unprofessional.. Then they get upset if you try to find out what's going on with your animal. If they are that under staffed to the point they can't answer their phone, then hire more people. Dont get upset when someone calls to try to find out what's going on with their animal and when they will be ready for you to pick up your animal..Im considering changing my vet."

"If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Two of my babies have gone to this location for THIRTEEN years the other ELEVEN. Their whole lives. I had insurance for both. We fell behind on payments and my dog started seizing. I tried calling but no one answers so we went in and they refused to see her. We would have paid out of pocket for the visit but the girl said sorry and gave the address to the emergency vet down the road. They literally saw my dog wrapped in her blanket (no longer seizing but not looking well) and turned us away! These people are not about pets at all, there’s no empathy it’s just a business to them! There wasn’t a single person I even recognized to beg for help…such turnover in this location. They had us scrambling from the emergency vet (where we paid $200 but couldn’t afford the full scanning) to then calling banfield’s billing dept to settle what we owed so they can see us. My poor baby had another seizure. My husband called this location about 10x bc no one answers the phone trying again to get us squeezed in and instead of showing concern for my pet, a pet they have seen for 11yrs- they simply said “sorry we can’t see her until tomorrow”. There was absolutely no concern! We went back to the emergency vet (this place is amazing btw) and unfortunately my baby girl had too many seizures at that point and died later that evening. I will never forgive this place. No wonder for all the bad reviews. Banfield Nanuet should be shut down. Disgusting treatment and pitiful customer service."

"I love this hospital. I have made use of the wellness plan more then once. They have been there for me and my animals whenever I have needed a last minute appointment. I have even gone in the very morning with an emergency and they had taken in my dog. I do wish I could go in with my animals but meh. For the price and the care it’s okay."

"My experience at this location has been amazing including the doctor's Olsen and Melendez to the staff that works in the back to the front desk ladies including Monica. They truly cared for Sashi and to have compassion in helping us out to loving our cat. Truly being serious the doctor's and this location in truly amazing. Thank you all so very much. I cant stop thanking you all enough. Sashi loves all of you. She is so claim as you can see sitting on the table at banfield."
