Boardwalk Sand & Surf Inn Beach Hotel

"Pretty much the only great thing about this place was that it was right in the boardwalk and that you had the perk of staying next door to the Jersey shore house! I booked the 1 bedroom apartment suite. The door was missing a part of the locking mechanism, which did not let me sleep well through the night. We were still able to lock the door by pushing our fingers through the hole to ghetto lock it. On top of that the toilet was a little leaky and because the bathroom was cramped and small it grossed us out even more. The beds were broken, lumpy, and lopsided so we dragged the mattresses to the middle the floor and slept there. Wifi was extremely slow, ended up purchasing a hotspot for the weekend. The front desk guy was nice. We definitely won’t be staying here again."

"If it was possible to give negative stars I would. Do yourself a favor and sacrifice a few steps and book something else a block from the boardwalk. Absolutely disgusting and the worst service that could be available. At 11:30 pm we came back to a room (first time really inspecting as we got to seaside around 8:30) to no hot water in the shower, a dirty tissue UNDER the blanket, dirty sheets/mattresses, hair on the pillow and in the shower, film on the floor, a mattress that sunk to the floor, and a bed that was a metal fold out summer camp like bed. Upon calling for assistance some man shows up and accuses me of placing the tissue there and then just covers it with the sheet as if that made it better. Wouldn’t sit on the bed as I asked him to as I assume he knew exactly what would happen if he did. He told me he would get a new mattress. Did something in the shower to give us warm (not hot) water. About an hour later he never shows up again and I go to the outside because I’m fuming, only to find him out there with someone else standing next to his car smoking. I asked what was going on and he said he “sent the guy for a new mattress”. We had booked the room from a third party site so we called them. They contacted the property owed who LIED and said they offered us an upgrade and we refused. Never happened btw. So I called the guy AGAIN (mind you, there were several other calls in between) and they said they would NOT refund the first night but would refund the other two. So at 1pm we demanded to change rooms, which was done as we repacked and hauled all our stuff down the hall. (Not an upgrade just another room). The next morning called the third party site again who stated they had not heard back from the property therefor could not refund. So we decided to stay because we didn’t want to be out double money from the trip. At 12:30 pm I got a call saying we had to come and pack our things and get out because they needed to clean the room for another guest. Ps, they don’t clean. So we did. After about 10 calls each to the property and third party site it seems we will get our money back. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time on these people. It’s disgusting and you may leave with more than you bargained for!"

"This was easily one of the nastiest motels I've ever stayed at. Their website is super misleading (kudos to the photographer for their skill at making the place look a billion times better than it does in person). It felt more like a cheap, rundown hostel than a motel. The basement level rooms are creepy and dirty (I was actually concerned about ending up with bed bugs and/or finding hidden cameras in the room), with a shared bathroom down the hall that was supposedly 'just cleaned' and yet still covered in random hairs. More random hairs in the bed sheets, mold on the mini fridge door, footsteps audible from the floor above all night. Luckily I only had to stay one night."

"It’s your typical seaside motel. The room was good for an overnight, though we did feel kind of unsafe because the key that opened up the door to get into the motel also opened up the door to our room. Also, check your beds. There were definitely bodily fluids on the sheets. But they brought us new stuff immediately. Very friendly staff."

"The positives: location was great and the room was clean. BUT ...the room was outdated and lacking. There were no towels in the room. They did not have an ice machine and the office location was hard to find. The bed made so much noise that I thought maybe it was an air mattress. The pillows were awful. The blinds were broken, so they pieced parts from another blind to fill the gaps. Light still came through which made it hard to sleep and I didn't feel like we had complete privacy. It was good for the location and a short trip. We only stayed 1 night, so this worked."
