"I had my birthday here and it was perfect. The staff is so friendly and they went above and beyond to make sure I had a great time. Alana especially is an amazing server and excellent. Definitely recommend!"
"Two of us walked in on a Friday night and were seated right away without a wait. That’s not a great sign - an awesome restaurant is typically fully booked on weekend nights. The guac tasted fresh and the chips tasted a little stale, like they’ve been sitting out for a while. $16 The steak plate $24 was covered with cheese and sauce, in a yummy way. The fish tacos $23 were not my favorite. The lettuce tasted old and the fish tasted bland. The soggy tortilla made the taco overall taste floppy and damp. The mango margarita ($17) and another cocktail we got ($17) were good. The staff are friendly, but you have to FLAG them down for attention. Between the two of us, the bill came out to be around $100 before tax and tip."
"For all my sensitive stomach people, don’t. Food was good, nothing special but good. But afterwards I looked like I’m 6 months pregnant and me and my boyfriend’s felt so heavy we had to go straight home and sleep( and we eat a lot of Mexican food ) Know I’ve been in the bathroom for an hour at 5am, so actually this food maybe not something for anyone with a stomach. And it’s expensive. Will be back for frozen margaritas and an update on those."
"Our first night back in New York in a year and this time staying in the East Village. My partner chose this restaurant amongst the many in the area. We arrived at 8pm with no reservation and were escorted to a seat easily, although within another 20 minutes the place was busier. Our waiter was very attentive and took our drinks order quickly - the usual for us - sangria and margarita. I ordered taco with brisket and quesadilla filled with pulled pork. My partner order a burrito which was cold in the middle so he sent it back to be reheated. Generally the food and drinks were served quickly so you could be in and out of here in an hour. Notes: service was great, wheelchair accessible (in the front of the restaurant), kid friendly, music and general noise is a little loud for my liking, generally a younger crowd on a Saturday night, atmosphere is pleasant. #thewanderingreviewer #lapaparestaurant #newyorkrestaurant #newyorkrestsurant #la_palapa @la_palapa #eaternyc @eaternyc #lapalapa #lapalapanyc #lapalapacocinamexicana #lapalapacocina"
"Food: incredible! 10/10 Guacamole was perfect! Highly recommend. A few at our table loved the enchiladas with salsa verde. I loved the posole soup. Sangria~ so-so Ambiance: 5/10 way too loud and difficult to converse with a long table of people. Bathroom was out of soap."
