The store manager must have overheard this because when we returned to retrieve the car, I was presented with a decorated birthday plate and a brownie!! I have never experienced such kindness from a merchant. I will sing the praises of PEP BOYS from now on."

"I was pleased with the work done to my vehicle. However, my issue was with customer service. I was originally told the work would take 2 - 2.5 hours to complete. I called for an update at the 2.5 hour mark and was told they needed another hour. I called after the hour and was told to come and pick up the car in 20 minutes. When I arrived, the lead technician was on an automated call on speaker phone. He wasn't wearing a name tag so I do not know his name. The only way I can describe him is he had a long black beard. I stood in front of the checkout counter for 5 minutes and was not acknowledged. Another technician named Jason arrived at the adjacent counter to call a customer. When he was done he cheerfully said, "I can take care of you over here!". He looked up my service account and asked the lead technician, who was still on the phone, about the completion of the job. To which that technician simply shook his head. So then Jason said, "I'm sorry ...he'll be able to check you out in a moment." So I went back to standing in front of the counter for another 10 minutes while he continued with his automated call. Afterward he hung up the phone and signaled to Jason saying, "You check her out". With that he walked away. Jason looked at me apologetically and looked up my service again on the computer. He told that they still had to do a wheel alignment, which wouldn't take long. So I paid the bill and waited another 45 minutes before getting my car back."
