J. Murphy's On Main

"We were on a Hudson River cruise and found this quaint pub right on Main Street. After a little confusion (do we seat ourselves? wait to be seated?), we were shown to a table and had excellent service. The decor is very interesting with lots of pictures and signs to read and chat about. The menu is small, but diverse - pretzel bites, Ruben spring rolls, other 'pub type' appetizers. We had lunch. I had the short-rib grilled cheese (with spinich) and fries. My partner had the fish n' chips. The food was above average, but not to the level of 'fantastic.' The portions were large. The short-rib meat was generous. Overall, I would definitely go back when in the Cold Spring area."

"Had the cauliflower crust pizza with herbed ricotta and a balsamic type dressing topped with arugula, carrots, avocado, onions and tomatoes. I have to say, I really wasn’t expecting much. I was just curious, but it was really tasty! The only thing I will say is I have TMJ and my jaw really hurt after eating it. The crust is quite chewy. I don’t normally have pain eating food unless it’s like a big bagel or something so if you have TMJ, maybe don’t get this, but otherwise it’s quite tasty and I highly recommend!"

"I liked my burger and enjoyed it better when I added bacon . I got the pulled pork burger . However my friends did not like theirs as much . The service could have been better but I give a thumbs up to the lady who spoke Spanish to my friend and made us feel very welcome , she was very sweet and kind."

"Excellent meal! Great Service! I had the Spare Ribs - they were delicious, perfectly done! She had Fish n Chips - they were moist and meaty... She lived in the UK for more then a decade and said these were the Best Fish n Chips she has found in the US... "Did not Disappoint" - typical British understatement. We will eat here again!"

"Absolutely enjoy a meal at J. Murphy's during any visit to Cold Springs. So disappointing to read the negative reviews commenting on the wait time. When visiting Cold Springs during a busy time of the year or especially during Fall Foliage at it's peak, really what do you expect? Clearly the town is extremely crowded & this will happen !! We put our name on their list, the women stated it would be an hour wait so we walked around by the time we got back she had just called to tell us our table was ready. Simple !! Our meal was amazing as always, the best fish & waffle chips I've had in ages ! The staff as well are amazing just so attentive & serves you with a smile ! Thank you for yet another fabulous meal to end a wonderful day in Cold Springs !!"
