"I just moved in yesterday. So far so good. The apartment is very clean and up to date. High ceilings. Spacious. My initial move in was pushed back a few times. Which is to be expected in this area. Everybody wants to live in Virginia Beach. But Maiya & Latoya were very professional and welcoming and informative. My alarm went off this morning and I didn't not have a code yet. The maintenance man was there in no less then 5 mins. That's a crazy good response time. I would take some of these reviews with a grain of salt. Theyve shown me nothing but good vibes so far. Would be a five star but i will say it's hard to get in contact over phone phone easier to just go in office"
"My tour of Doria was pretty quick, the leasing agent we worked with, Maiya, was very helpful and very friendly. There were multiple residents in the office so I traded my id for a key of the unit I was allowed to tour. The unit was absolutely beautiful! You could tell it had been freshly renovated. Moving forward there seems to be poor communication from who ever is above our leasing agent. We were told the unit we applied for was unavailable, available, and then unavailable again over the course of 3 days. We hopefully will secure a unit but are waiting to hear back since they are closed on Sunday."
"Doria is useless. I submitted my application in August to move in September. They changed the day of moving in, the unit where I would move and the price to pay. I first had to move in at the beginning of September and they changed it to October 31st. I was calling for several weeks to confirm that everything was going well. When they answered, they said everything was fine. It was not until October 30 when they informed me (before closing the office) that my apartment was not ready. I now had to wait until November 15th. When I looked on the website it said that my moving date was November 30th. I tried to contact them again and only received an email saying that the apartment would not be ready until December 15. They have never given any explanation. Doria is truly a disaster. I have lost around $7,000 paying for a place to live because Doria has not kept his word. They still have not refunded my administration fee and it is true, the office reeks of cannabis smoke."
"From the moment we got approved for the apartment it’s been a mess The leasing office completely stopped communicating with us 2 weeks before it was time to move in they pushed our move in date back for another week because the apartment “wasn’t ready” but because we really needed to move (coming from another state) this was our last and only option and Once I finally got to Va and was able to come to the leasing office they refused to give me a walk of the apartment without signing my lease first. Once we did the walk through things were still not finished despite pushing our date back. plugs weren’t covered, the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling, the refrigerator seal was coming up (still an issues were dealing with up until we left March of 2023 ), the floor was coming up to the point of not being able to close the bathroom door, and we couldn’t use the alarm that we pay 23 dollars a month for. A couple of months into living in the apartment the alarm started chirping 3 times every minute all day and all night I tried to contact the leasing office and they did nothing so I called the alarm company and found out Doria was refusing to sign contracts with them but they were still collecting money from residents each month. A couple of weeks into the summer the ceiling in my apartment started turning brown and form a water stain which clearly was a Leak then the water started to leak down on the walls. We immediately put in a trouble ticket. We got a response back from the leasing office stating that it was the gutters and that they would have a contractor come and look at the wall. A week went by and still no contractor the maintenance man didn’t even come into the apartment to look. My husband put another comment in under the issue and still no response. two weeks went by and still no response. So we decided to call the corporate office and they gave me the run around no one knew who was responsible for Doria. We went a month going back and forth while every time it rained the wall got worse. Not only is it an eye sore but there’s now a hole which has caused bugs, and mold and it’s over an electrical outlet which can cause so many other issues. We continued to email the leasing office and they had so many different excuses. They finally gave us corporates correct phone number and email. Once someone finally responded they said they would take care of the issue by November the wall got worse every time it rained and there was still a hole in the ceiling and they have yet to do a thing about it. You get one parking spot even though most of the apartments here are two and three bedroom and although people have kids most people here are adults with cars. If you can’t find a parking spot you literally have to park all the way in the back and walk 5-8 mins from you car to you apartment depending on where you live but the leasing office agents make sure they either park in their front spots or take the visitor spots. And If you don’t park in your designated spot YOU WILL GET TOWED!!! IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! There are ABSOLUTELY NO Amenities. By the time we left Doria was on their THIRD management company and it hadn’t even been a year yet which was by far the worst. They could never give a straight answer lied about when maintenance would come to fix the same hole and water damage in the ceiling for months when we had ring at the door and inside the apartment so there was no way. When he finally came he wiped the mold with his finger and told us that it should be fine because the wall wasn’t wet anymore.Jacqueline is the absolute WORST person I have ever talked to she never knew what she was talking about extremely rude and disrespectful but didn’t like when I returned that energy to her! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY"
"I’m writing this reviews in attempts to warn others looking at this apartment complex as well as to get management to contact me. I have only lived here for 4 months and I’ve had many problems. Mainly, the alarm system that was discussed during my tour and stated in my lease, hasn’t been installed and incorrect charges have been added to my account. When I’ve been attempting to get them fixed, I rarely get someone to answer the phone or respond to my emails. Recently, my account was partially corrected but it’s still not accurate, but no one has responded to me. Plus, I now have another incorrect charge. The team in Virginia Beach does not have authorization to fix the charges on resident’s account and has to submit tickets to the parent office in Georgia. It’s nearly impossible to contact someone at that office. I’ve had other problems as well, but not sure if they are things others have experienced as well. The only good thing has been the leasing manager, Latoya. She was responding to my emails, however, she unfortunately doesn’t have the power to fix anything for me. I would strongly recommend living somewhere else, simply due to the lack of communication and problems will billing (if you do live here, do not set up auto pay!)."
