"My partner and I decided to take a trip on the Blue Ridge Flyer for his birthday. We booked the 3:30 trip. We departed exactly on time and arrived back right at 6:30. The staff was so friendly and helpful to everyone. The service was just a good as a 5 star restaurant. The train and restroom were both clean. The views were not as great as they advertise in their pictures. Like most trains, you go through many small towns, but we did have some lovely scenery. I think we missed peak foliage by a week though. The weather was somewhat mild for this early November day, so we stood out on the veranda for a bit. The food was delicious catered in from a local restaurant who finish the process on board. The one downfall is everyone on the train was so busy talking to each other it was somewhat difficult to hear the recorded history along the way. But that's to be expected in these situations. This is not a cheap trip, but I think it's definitely worth the price."

"9/2023: Really enjoyed our quick trip on Va. Scenic Railway! Rode the southern route and saw some pretty farmland; our understanding is the northern route is more mountains and a noteworthy tunnel. Vicky, the server, was so great and the food tasted great. The ride went quickly and we were surprised at the turnaround point. The engineers were very informative and didn’t hesitate to explain how the train decoupled and reattached to go the other direction. Highly recommend."

"This is definitely a really cool experience, and I totally recommend at least doing this one time. During the train ride the staff serve you your food based on what you ordered previously when the tickets were purchased. While you eat you get to see and learn about the views that Virginia has to offer."
