Bea Arthur Dog Park is a spacious and beautiful park located at 501 Front Street in Norfolk, Virginia, overlooking the water and next to PETA's headquarters. Named after the late honorary director Bea Arthur, the park features a water station, toy bin, shaded picnic area, and a pergola for shade and shelter. The park has simple rules to ensure safety while playing and does not offer access to the Elizabeth River to protect sensitive wildlife.
Local dogs can be seen running and playing at the park, and occasionally special events or fundraisers take place there. The park is almost always open, but it's recommended to call ahead to confirm. If the park is closed, the neighboring Ben White Dog Park is available for use.
Dogs who visit the park may be part of PETA's Community Animal Project, which provides free or low-cost spay/neuter services, flea prevention, deworming medication, food, toys, and more to dogs in underserved areas. PETA's fieldworkers also provide custom-built wooden doghouses, flexible tie-outs, and straw for warmth to improve the lives of these dogs.

We stayed for 2 hrs…gorgeous views, wonderful breeze, shaded garden porch area, shaded play pool area for the dogs, drinking fountain & Super nice people ! happy kind dogs, very little arguments or bad behavior at all. I counted at least 20 dogs and still no problems, lots of laughing and they had a blast !"
"Park was pretty solid! Although the area to let your dogs jump in the water was closed. Plenty of places to sit and great views of the waters. There is some little water pools and easy access to water and bowls for the pups. Would definitely go back. Did look a little bit meh in some parts and needed some upkeep and when they open up the water area I'll give it 5 stars!"
