"No call, no appointment for delivery, just dropped it at the end of my driveway with zero notification on a rainy day. They even had the audacity to say that we accepted it, they lied. "Purchased a 22 Ton half beam log-splitter requiring small freight shipping across the US. Siai offers flat rate shipping with residential delivery. We live in very rural area, almost on a back country dirt road. I was extremely impressed with the truck driver that delivered my item. He had no problem finding my address, double (back road) parking, and unloading/delivery of the over weight item. Great job!"

"I am not normally one to give a negative review of a company but my experience with Saia has been terrible. I own a business and receive multiple shipments everyday. We have never been charged any fee from any trucking company before until one of our vendors delivered a package through Saia. A few days after receiving the delivery we received a bill for $38.50. This was confusing to me because our vendors paid for the shipping. After contacting the customer service line I was told the driver of the truck had to "hand un-load" the packages so an additional charge was given and that it was my responsibility to pay (not my vendor). I was never made aware of any charges that would be given if we did not use a fork lift or a loading dock. The driver was at my building for a total of 4 minutes. He parked out in the middle of the main road and asked if we had a loading dock, I replied "no, do I need one" and he said "don't worry about it" He then took them off the pallet slid them to the edge of the truck and me and one of my employees unloaded them from the truck into my shop very quickly so he could get out of the main road. First of all our urgency was to help the driver (not for us), the entire experience was very informal because the driver was a customer of ours who had came into my store 2 weeks prior and didn't give us any details on being charged if we didn't unload a certain way and last, I have a labor based business of my own and we would NEVER charge someone $40 dollars for something THEY ASSISTED US WITH and only took 4 TOTAL MINUTES. I attempted to explain this on 2 separate occasions to the company and rather than receiving a call back I received two separate emails saying "the charges are valid". $38.50 will not put us out of business but our attempt to be courteous to the driver resulting in a costly charge and over an hour of time wasted on the phone is to me not only a dirty scam by SAIA but just plane out bad business. I will never use SAIA for deliveries and will let my vendor know that we will not accept deliveries from them in the future and advise them not to use them. Charges like these are wrong and attempts at making money off the ignorance of people and companies receiving packages."
