"Excellent place for lunch. Wide selection of good food with big portions. The kind of food you would expect from a neighborhood diner...with an amazing bakery. Service was excellent and friendly. Our lunch arrived quickly and everything was correct. Very tasty. Evie's is dominated by the bakery part. The selection is vast, covering a wide range of tastes. Everything we had was very good and everything else looked great in the many display cases (there may have been at least a hundred choices for desert). Do not miss Evie's when you are in Roanoke."

"Giving an update: The food is still decent but not as good as I remember. They still have the sandwiches. The beer selection is not very good; several beers that were on their menu were not available. The cake that I had tasted store-bought and it didn’t seem to have the same things that were in the description on the menu; it was missing something. The cake was too dense. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of the cake. Six years ago: This place is excellent. The cakes are delicious they have a good selection of beers available and the sandwiches are delicious. I can't say enough positive things about this place. The service is excellent the wait staff is very friendly and as I said before the food is delicious. Highly recommend."

"Evie's is a really cute, comfortable little restaurant and bakery nestled in Old Southwest Roanoke, seemingly with no other retailers around. The food was tasty, service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant with fresh flowers on the tables and wall decor that keeps your interest. Everyone in my party reported enjoying the food, and we salivated over the delicious looking desserts, which are the strength of this establishment. The prices are a little on the high side for lunch, but that's understandable with the current price of the quality ingredients that go into the food. I chose the California melt, which included sauteed mushrooms, onions and green peppers, with melted cheese, fresh tomato, spinach and avocado. The customer chooses the bread and a side. I chose the melt on focaccia with a Greek pasta salad. The salad was an excellent balance of an acidic dressing with feta, olives and seasonings. The focaccia was a little soft for the fillings, but it was still absolutely delicious, just easy to fall apart. The dessert menu is twice the size of the entrees, and range from all kinds of cakes, cookies, assorted brownies, cream puffs, assorted fresh pies and more. It's worth the stop to try it out, especially for the excellent desserts!"

"We stopped by just for sweets, so my review is only on dessert. We ordered 3 cakes, a lemon bar, and a brownie. The better than sex cake was GREAT, I highly recommend it if you like chocolate. It was moist and not crazy rich, I loved the caramel drizzle on it. The tres leches cake was decent, it was a bit plain and not as moist as it could have been. The Marie Antoinette was decent, better than tres leches and I probably would order it again. The lemon bar was really sweet and needed more lemon flavor. The pretzel brownie was really fudgey and dense. The restaurant was very crowded so I would definitely like to come back and try their entrees. There wasn't a parking lot that I saw, it looks like only street parking. The staff that helped us were very nice and overall I would recommend the desserts. I plan to keep trying the different items."
