SB's Lakeside Love Shack 6935 Lakeside Avenue, Richmond, VA 23228

"Love Shack was great. We went a couple weeks back and I am catching up on some reviews. I do intend on going back to the Love Shack. Very unique twists on traditional breakfast items. The food was cooked, presented and tasted very good. The portions were in the Goldilocks zone for me… not too much, not too little. The coffee was fine, nothing special but fine. We did have a bit of an issue with service. Not very attentive and slow on beverage orders. Once the food was served, which took a longer than is reasonably expected, they pulled a bit of the disappearing act. I will add that the restaurant was very busy at the time. I don’t see that as an excuse though… staff up if needed. I’ve only been once and we all experience poor service from time to time at any restaurant, so I didn’t want to penalize my overall rating too harshly."

"Had a great brunch at the place. They don't have omelets, and that surprised me as I haven't seen any breakfast places not selling omelets. However, I ordered something that was closer to omelets, and it was great. It is a cool place for breakfast. I liked the decor at the restaurant. It is lively and has good vibes."

"FANTASTIC!! This is a "must stop" eatery!! Visited here on a whim and was blown away by the quality of food and the great service. The atmosphere, to me, quite quircky, but it works well!! Nestled in the corner of a strip mall, the interior blew me away. Be prepared to have a great time here. Next time I am close to SBs, I am definitely eating here again."

"So I've been on the hunt for the best sausage gravy for a long time, and here is by far the BEST gravy I've ever had. The food here was amazing! Fresh, full of flavor, awesome presentation. Our waiter was so nice and attended to our every need. I have to come back here before the end of my visit, but if your in the area you MUST stop by and try their food!!! 100% RECOMMEND"

"A charming Richmond gem that is much beloved by the local community! It has always been bustling when I've come, and full of people of all ages, folks just love this place! Just take it all in when you come in - and take pictures of the chalkboard (or at least take a look) with all the specials on it. There's always three themed specials, in addition to two quiches, plus the whole list of pancake flavors, and more! There's just so much to the menu, and the written menu is handwritten and references "Love Shack" the song. The sweet potato hash is incredible, one of my favorite things on the menu, but everything I've tried has been delicious! There's also an option to add (edible) glitter to anything for $1, which my daughter loved, and her side of fruit that came with her unicorn pancakes was sparkly as well. One of the details I love here is the unique mugs they have if you get a hot beverage. It's just an incredibly thoughtful spot, and they apparently also have live music some nights! There are so many reasons people keep coming back! They do have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as seats by the bar (they have an extensive list of alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails/mocktails). The layout is a bit tight, and you would probably have a tough time fitting a large group inside (or a fairly long wait) but it's perfect for parties of 2-4 getting breakfast/brunch/lunch/etc. The service is incredibly friendly. Looking forward to trying their downtown location as well! Highly recommend for anyone in the mood for good food!"
