"I stopped in about 10 days ago with an out of town guest hoping to have a different food experience and a place i could eat more vegetarian meals in coming year but was sorely disappointed in some things. The young men were helpful in guiding us in our choices, the young women were not present. We sat down to eat and was put off by the lack of cleanliness of the place, tables dirty from months of continuous touching overall not conducive to dining. In a workplace there has to be a balance, enjoy clients your coworkers without neglecting the duties of maintaining the appearance of the store. My suggestion is you call in a professional company to thoroughly clean from top to bottom and start over anew."
"This was my first time trying this establishment and I was very excited to see that they had vegan options. The person who made my bowl clearly had no idea what I meant when I said vegan several times. I ended up still having cheese in my bowl. I went through and picked every single piece out because I was about to starve but I was very unhappy doing so. The rest was good but my experience would have been 10/10 had there not been cheese in my bowl. Next time I will certainly watch as it is being prepared."
"We were so glad to find an option for vegan food. Many vegan restaurants close early so this was a lifesaver. The food was delicious. The staff was very helpful. Even though we came in near closing time, the staff was super helpful and the food was fresh."
"I ordered food via Uber Eats. The order was El Jefe and mentioned to replace the protein with BBQ Tofu but the order came back with default chicken in it. There was no response when I tried to contact Roots customer service with no refund option or replacement option. Being a vegetarian it was a very bad experience. I have been ordering from here since last 5 years this was first time I faced this issue but going forward I would refrain from ordering from roots Richmond."
